I'm at work now, it's Monday morning and I'm soooo busy

But of course I can find time to upload to Flickr ;o)

I got my new studio lights and they are awesome, wow, but pretty complicated.

BTW some people asked how my first photography job went - well it was pretty good, got a few good shots. I was worried about the lighting but turns out it had beautiful natural light - lucky for me

While leaning over the ice, realizing that it is still very thin, clutching the mound of grass and snow that was literally land's end for me, this zigzag of broken grass embedded in the ice caught my eye. I could not frame it horizontally or vertically as there were interruptions and distractions in the form of other grassy debris, but I could see clearly that the essential image would fit nicely into a square frame crop. Which I did later, in Photoshop. Frenchman River, Grasslands National Park, Saskatchewan.

El Born street - Barcelona

Plastic red-and-white safety tape fluttering in the breeze along the tops of the traffic bollards lining the trench along my street.

The street outside my house has been dug up to rework the drainage system.

Every morning I have to duck under the safety tape, step into the trench and then up again onto the tarmac to get to my car now parked across on the other side.

When they finish our side, they will do the other side and everyone will park on our side of the street.

For "Macro Mondays" , theme : "Zigzag" .

For MacroMondays: Mostly White. I tried photographing garlic, polo mints and cowslip all on a white sheet of paper; then I just folded the paper into a zigzag fan.

For the Macro Mondays theme: 'Zigzag'.

Ever wonder what the speed of lightning would be if it didn't zigzag?

In creating this image, I wanted to strip architecture down to its purest geometric essence. By isolating this zigzag pattern against the empty sky, I aimed to transform a three-dimensional structure into an almost two-dimensional graphic composition. The deliberate framing—placing the pattern on the right with ample negative space on the left—was intended to create visual tension and highlight the dramatic rhythm of the chevrons. I was particularly drawn to how light interacts with these angular surfaces, creating a stark contrast between the illuminated planes and shadowed recesses. This photograph represents my ongoing exploration of how architectural elements can transcend their utilitarian purpose to become abstract visual poetry. By removing all context and focusing solely on pattern and form, I wanted viewers to appreciate the inherent beauty in these geometric relationships that often go unnoticed in our daily encounters with the built environment. The monochromatic palette further emphasizes the purity of form and the interplay between positive and negative space that gives this structure its distinctive character.
