Soon after the shift of Wrightbus into ownership of Jo Bamford (of the JCB dynasty), it was said that the Ballymena manufacturer viewed hydrogen fuel cell power as the future of zero-emission buses, albeit that battery-electric would be offered to complement it. But history since then shows that batteries are far and away the most popular choice in this field; it is difficult to see that changing, although hydrogen will no doubt retain a 'bit part' in more challenging applications.
Translink in Northern Ireland has kept local manufacturer Wrightbus busy building StreetDeck double-deckers across both energy sources. Here is battery-electric Electroliner variant 3558 (YUI 2338) passing Lanyon Place station as it arrives into Belfast city centre in some reasonable late November sun.

Moreland Council is driving a transition to zero emissions in it's heavy vehicle fleet by piloting a hydrogen fuel cell technology for it's fleet of garbage trucks, which will be driven by a renewables powered hydrogen plant at it's Hadfield depot. This will result in zero emissions, less diesel pollution, reduced noise, and long term fuel cost savings. The Andrews state Labor Government has contributed $1 million to the development of this zero emissions fleet pilot program.

Developed from the ground up as a fully-electric truck on GM’s advanced Ultium EV Platform, the Silverado EV offers a combination of capability, performance and versatility, along with advanced technologies that can evolve the vehicle over time. In spring 2023, the Silverado EV will debut a WT model offering a large range battery with an expected GM-estimated range of over 400 miles on a full charge. In the fall of 2023, a fully loaded RST First Edition model, also including a 400-mile range, will debut with an MSRP of $105,000 + DFC. After production ramps up, Chevrolet will unleash the full Silverado EV portfolio including WT with a starting at MSRP of $39,900 + DFC, RST, Trail Boss and more with the ability to content the truck across various price ranges, with MSRPs around $50,000, $60,000, $70,000, $80,000 and more. This will allow customers to choose the truck that meets their capability and pricing needs.

Miles Electric Vehicles is a manufacturer and distributor of all-electric vehicles manufactured in China to meet international car safety standards. MILES was recently given the "Electric Car Company of 2007" award by Good Clean Tech.
Miles Electric Vehicles is based in Los Angeles, California, with several facilities throughout the United States, is privately held by "Green" magnate Miles Rubin. The company gained prominence in 2005 when it began sales of the ZX40, the first street-legal Chinese-made automobile sold in the United States.[2] The company's vehicles, built on steel unibodychassis, are the world's first crash tested NEVs to achieve DoT,CARB and NHTSA compliance.
Currently the company offers four electric vehicles designed primarily for low-speed fleet use, the ZX40, ZX40S, ZX40S Advanced Design, and ZX40ST electric truck. These are currently available in the United States and in use at campuses such as NASA, U.S. Navy, Yale and Stanford University, UCLA, California Polytechnic State University, and the San Francisco Airport Authority.

Such vehicles must include standard lighting and seatbelts, but do not require passive restraints, typically airbags in higher-speed vehicles. The vehicles should not exceed 25 mph (40 km/h) on streets with posted speed limits of 35 mph or less.

A walk down the Stratford Road between Hall Green and Shirley to see the brand new National Express West Midlands Electric buses on the 6, on the first day of operation.
The first bus I saw was National Express West Midlands Electric E015 on the Stratford Road in Hall Green.
Heading towards Robin Hood Island.
E015 is named Noor Zamil.
