AC Transit in the East Bay area of California has a long-ish associatiion with hydrogen fuel cell-electric buses and it currently runs quite a number of them. They are from Van Hool and, as seen here, New Flyer. Fleet number 7206 is an XHE60 model, one of 10 with AC Transit; the operator also has five similar XE40 battery-electric models. The bus is seen here in Berkeley on a 51B journey on a Saturday afternoon.
First Leicester is embarking upon the process of electrifying its whole fleet with Wrightbus products. Most will be the single-deck GB Kite Electroliner single-deck model as seen here, with a smaller number of StreetDeck Electroliners also to come. Part funding has been provided by the Department for Transport Zero Emission Bus Regional Areas scheme. Here 63501 (BK23 HCP) is seen off its patch in Edinburgh at a conference.
Basel is a city that is no stranger to electric public transport through its tram network, although electric buses had been gone for a while following the closure of a single trolleybus line some years ago. It seems that battery-electrics are now beginning to appear, with a pair of VDL Citeas - one 12m, the other an 18m artic as seen - and some Mercedes-Benz eCitaros imminent. The Citear artic, SLFA-181 Electric to give the full name, is seen here on route 30 which runs between the city's two main railway stations - Bad Bahnhof and SBB. It is waiting time at the latter. Such a low-speed, urban service is ideal for a battery-electric bus.
I'm surprised that these Russian cars are being sold in the States. The version sold here is an electric model with a top speed of only 25 mph (40 kph). This isn't my photo of course and I doubt that I'll ever see one of these in use but you never know.

Deployment of zero-emission buses in London has gathered great pace over the past 18 months and will no doubt continue on that trajectory, although whether all of these vehicles are replacing diesel buses on a 1:1 basis or if slightly more zero-emission examples are required to mitigate range limitations isn't immediately clear.
In the battery-electric double-deck field, the BYD ADL Enviro400EV has thus far dominated, with a few batches of Switch Mobility (formerly Optare) Metrodecker EVs also in use. The Enviro400EV's position is already under major threat from the Wrightbus StreetDeck EV - with a vastly superior maximum battery capacity - and a pending new battery-electric model produced entirely by Alexander Dennis itself, which - it is claimed - will be offered alongside the E400EV. The UK Yutong importer has also long promised a double-decker.
The E400EV's Achilles heel is the seating arrangement at the back of the lower deck, which is very poor owing to the positioning of the drive axle. The StreetDeck EV, at least, does not suffer from that. Here Stagecoach London 14171 (LG71 DSU) departs North Greenwich bound for Erith on a 180 journey. Like an increasing number of new buses, it has rear-view cameras in place of conventional mirrors.

Volvo 7900E is seen here on Kilmarnock Bus Station, Green Street, Kilmarnock on Service 1 to Priestland.
Stagecoach West Scotland took delivery of Scotland’s first opportunity charged battery-electric buses in the form of six Volvo 7900e models in July 2021 after being granted £2m from SP Energy Networks’ Green Economy Fund (GEF) for five of these buses, the sixth bus and all associated charging infrastructure was fully financed by the operator.
The vehicles operate out of Stagecoach's Kilmarnock Depot on Service 1 which operates between Kilmarnock and Priestland.
Stagecoach West Scotland were awarded £2.7m from the second round of the Scottish Ultra Low Emission Bus Scheme towards 15 battery-electric single-deck BYD D8UR Alexander Dennis Enviro 200EV's and their associated infrastructure.
Vilnius is relatively unusual among European trolleybus systems in that it still maintains a significant number of these Skoda 14Tr vehicles. A few run during off-peak times, but during rush periods many others come out to play. They have all the traditional trolleybus sounds and, equally authentically, are rather rough internally. As they're non-accessible it will be interesting to see how long they remain in use for, but for now, here is vehicle 2135 approaching the Stotis terminal outside the main railway station on an afternoon peak 7 journey.

BYD D8UR Alexander Dennis Enviro 200EV is seen here on Green Street, Kilmarnock on Service 3 to Shortlees.
In 2021 Stagecoach made £21.4m investment into 46 zero-emission buses introduced in Aberdeen, Perth and Kilmarnock as part of the Scottish Government’s Ultra Low Emission Bus scheme with £2.7m invested into Kilmarnock on these BYD D8UR Alexander Dennis Enviro 200EV's with similar examples forming a second batch in Perth, East Scotland.
It comes shortly after the introduction of six zero-emission Volvo 7900E buses for rural communities along the Irvine Valley to Kilmarnock, operated under partnership with SP Energy Networks which cost £2m again through Scottish Government’s Ultra Low Emission Bus scheme.
The only trolleybus operation in Norway is in the western city of Bergen, where a single line is in the hands of Solaris Trollino 18 examples of the Skyss operation such as 3002, seen at the Lyngbo terminus. Although trolleybuses may have an uncertain future in general with the rise of battery-electric buses, the line in Bergen was apparently extended not too long ago. These Trollino models have battery power themselves, and are thus able to run where there is no overhead wire.
