In 2021 Stagecoach made £21.4m investment into 46 zero-emission buses introduced in Aberdeen, Perth and Kilmarnock as part of the Scottish Government’s Ultra Low Emission Bus scheme with £2.7m invested into Kilmarnock on these BYD D8UR Alexander Dennis Enviro 200EV's with similar examples forming a second batch in Perth, East Scotland.
It comes shortly after the introduction of six zero-emission Volvo 7900E buses for rural communities along the Irvine Valley to Kilmarnock, operated under partnership with SP Energy Networks which cost £2m again through Scottish Government’s Ultra Low Emission Bus scheme.

This vehicle is currently undergoing a period of demonstration with Go North East following an announcement which confirmed they had successfully won a bid to purchase nine electric vehicles to be delivered in early 2020.
It is believed these vehicles will be for Saltwell Park Services 53/54 which operates from Newcastle to Saltwell Park via Bensham and Gateshead.

Apparently made Explore (#91, 10-Jul-2011)... Funny to think about that, since it sat on my hard drive since March and it very nearly got deleted while I was cleaning up the shots from the Geneva Motor Show. It's only yesterday that I saw that by reframing it I could make something out of it.

There are 4 Alexander Dennis Limited (ADL) and BYD UK fully electric double deckers Enviro400EV at Lothian, built at nearby Falkirk, 10.8m long and has seats for up to 72 passengers, funded by SP Energy Networks £1.7
million project.
Launched in June 2021 on route 10, they also feature
USB charging points, on-board audio-visual next stop announcements and free Wi-Fi .
Lothain 292 is seen at the terminus in Torphin, thanks very much to driver Margaret for her assistance.

At this facility, photovoltaic (solar) cells supply the energy required to split water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen. The hydrogen is then stored in tanks and used to fill fuel cell powered buses. These buses have zero harmful emissions.
AC Transit operates the largest fleet of fuel cell-powered buses in the United States.

On Sunday the 5th of July 2020 some of the first 19 BYD Enviro 400EV Citys with Alexander Dennis bodies, finally entered service in Birmingham with National Express.
They represent an investment of 15 million pounds for the company and are the first fully electric double deckers in the region. The first few were delivered to Birmingham Central garage at the end of February and because of the ongoing COVID- 19 pandemic, they were delayed entry into operational use by three months.
The Smart-Vision cameras are now the standard visual assistance with this order, following the initial trial vehicle number 6937. Four distinct branding graphics are applied within the advert framework area displaying their environmental credentials.
Fleet number E008 named 'Laura' had the honour of being the first to enter service with the company. The photograph sees E012 'Mehreen' also on its introductory day on the 6 route to Solihull.

A new experience for me on this Ro-Pax ferry:-
I was driving the last vehicIe to board, and did not realise it was electrically powered until we pulled away from the quay in silence, and it then became obvious.
Operating on the route between São Jacinto and the Fort of Barra (Forte da Barra) in Ílhavo, within the Ria de Aveiro.
Built in 2024 by Navaltagus Reparação e Construção Naval, Seixal, Lisbon, Portugal (C11/21)
Ordered for the Câmara Municipal de Aveiro (District Council of Aveiro)
LOA: 36.96m. / 121.25 ft.
Beam: 9.2m. / 30 ft.
Draught: 1.7m / 5.5 ft.
Gross tonnage: 396.
Capacity: 19 vehicles and 260 passengers in addition to four crewmembers.
The first Portuguese 100% Electric Ferry and the the first electric ferry on the Iberian Peninsula.
The zero-emissions ferry will slash CO2 emissions by 300 tonnes while reducing energy consumption by around 30%. Transporting 260 passengers and 19 vehicles, it also offers a 30% and 90% increase in capacity respectively, compared with the previous vessel on the service.

Stagecoach West Scotland took delivery of Scotland’s first opportunity charged battery-electric buses in the form of six Volvo 7900e models in July 2021 after being granted £2m from SP Energy Networks’ Green Economy Fund (GEF) for five of these buses, the sixth bus and all associated charging infrastructure was fully financed by the operator.
The vehicles operate out of Stagecoach's Kilmarnock Depot on Service 1 which operates between Kilmarnock and Priestland.
Stagecoach West Scotland were awarded £2.7m from the second round of the Scottish Ultra Low Emission Bus Scheme towards 15 battery-electric single-deck BYD D8UR Alexander Dennis Enviro 200EV's and their associated infrastructure.
Go North East quaycity Voltra 5803, 5804, 5805, 5807, 5808, and 5809 are all seen here at Newcastle Quayside whilst at the launch event.

The Circulator network in Washington, DC is a collection of low-speed, urban services that charge the princely sum of $1 for a ride. Such operating characteristics leaves Circulator as an ideal landscape for battery-electric buses, and so quite a number of such Proterra models can be seen. Here is fleet number 3012, a BE40 model dating from 2017. It is running the Lincoln Memorial routes and is turning from Columbus Circle into Louisiana Avenue NW here. Behind is Washington Union Station.
Stood in Shirley, when only two weeks old, is Electric Enviro 400EV number E018. It is one of four carrying the "When scoring a big fat ZERO is a good thing!" advertisement between the decks.

I have finally managed to grab some decent shots of an experimental electric-drive battery powered carbon fibre bus that lives local to me.
RX15HSU is a 'Bristol Superlight' built by the Frazer-Nash Research company based in Farnborough, Hants. The bus was first registered on 28/08/2015 and I've been after a decent shot of it ever since!
Their concept bus is kitted out to B27D layout and weighs in at just 3.5 tonnes, its revenue weight listed as 4840kg. It carries a 1.0L engine which is used to recharge the lithium batteries and as such the bus is marketed as ultra low emission / zero emission capable.
I grabbed some shots of the bus when it was out on a demonstration run on 02/03/2017.
