INRD’s Friday-only HWBOT cruises past the Yoho General Store in Solsberry. They have five hoppers for Bloomington industries. Tranquility resumed in Solsberry seconds after the passing of the Bloomington Turn.
I took this as we were waiting in line for two hours to get a campsite at Kicking Horse Campground on a holiday weekend.
British Columbia, Canada - July 11, 2022: The grounds of the Emerald Lake Lodge and cabins, in Yoho National Park
Driving back from Takakkaw falls in Yoho National Park, I had to pull over and take a shot of the setting sun lighting the mountains in the distance. Lucky there was not much traffic at dusk so no one noticed me standing in the middle of the highway with a tripod.
This was one of my favorite evenings for photography during my Rocky Mtn trip and it happened in Yoho National Park. I had set up in the river and could see some nice sunset light developing in the direction I was hoping it would but as I was capturing this scene the sunset was getting more and more intense in the opposite direction as well. After I was happy that the sunset had peaked for my main shot I whirled the camera around and got a few shots of the scene from the other direction.
The reds were so intense that it looked like a massive forest fire was lighting up the mountains (which it fortunately wasn't) and I'll share that pic as time permits.
