A view from afar on this day from the tall Takakkaw Falls. The breeze was such that if you got much closer, the spray was coming right at the lens. I did hike up to the falls, but the captures closer would have been super misty all over the lens / ND filters.
But I actually liked this view here showing the waterfall off in the distance with the main river here in the frame. A moody day there in Yoho National Park.
Just below Takakkaw Falls, BC, Canada. Cloudy early morning shot on the way to the falls, which are spectacular!
The Rocky Mountaineer climbs the grade between the spiral tunnels at Yoho as it heads for Lake Louise, AB.
Capture made in the Yoho National Park where this river is cutting out a natural bridge there in the rock ... the drops down and away here in this frame.
While in Canada we also visited the Yoho National Park area. This is the Natural Bridge where the river flows down and through the bridge there being formed by the river cutting its way through. Looks cool here as the flow is heading down from both directions.
Kind of like Thor's Well along the Oregon coast, but here in the Rocky Mountains.
Captured with the 9 Stop and CPL filters stacked.
Yoho Valley Drive, Yoho National Park, British Columbia
Yoho is an exclamation of awe or wonder in the language of the Cree people. It was an inspired choice for the name for this beautiful national park in British Columbia.
Here we are looking back down the Yoho Valley Drive, past the colorful aspens along the Yoho River towards Cathedral Mountain.

"Yoho National Park is a national park of Canada. It is located within the Rocky Mountains along the western slope of the Continental Divide of the Americas in southeastern British Columbia, bordered by Kootenay National Park to the south and Banff National Park to the east in Alberta. The word Yoho is a Cree expression of amazement or awe, and it is an apt description for the park's spectacular landscape of massive ice fields and mountain peaks, which rank among the highest in the Canadian Rockies." Have a terrific Tuesday!
At 1,224 feet (373 meters) this is the second tallest waterfall in Canada. It's unique in that the first drop hits a pool with such force, that the water shoots up in the air before its final drop to the river below.
THANK YOU FOR THE EXPLORE! This is my 54th picture to be Explored. I still can't believe it's happened even once!
