As the WTK chicks have been growing, I have been seeing more hawk and crow fly overs (even saw a bald eagle checking out the nest but he didn't get too close). However the crows are by far the most vicious.

White-throated Kingfisher (Halcyon smyrnensis)
Also known as the White-breasted Kingfisher. However, not all of them has a white breast, so white-throated is more appropriate. Its call is like the Collared Kingfisher, but less sharp and shrill.
Common resident breeder
Local subspecies: fusca
Length: 28 cm
Habitat: Wetland, river, pond, park
Distribution: Turkey east to the Philippines.
Breeding: Dec-May
Nest: Bank, termite mound
Diet: Fish, lizard, snake, insect, frog, rodent
