Lots of grenades and grenade bags. According to the text it is a training of the division in "Kampftatigkeit". A text that could be interesting.

The walls of this slot canyon writ large are 1500 feet high and as close as 30 feet apart. The 'trail' is the river; this hike is done mostly in the water. It was only about knee-deep when we were there in late May, with some deeper pools, but the footing is slippery and full of hidden rocks, We did maybe 2.5 miles each way of the wet portion to take in the narrowest section (seen here), sometimes called Wall Street.

Es molt interessant veure com alguns fabricants d'objectius fotografics del s. XIX gravaven les lents de cada objectiu amb el mateix nº de serie que el conjunt. Aquest descobriment pot ser de gran utilitat per descobrir falsificacions (algunes d'antigues i tot!). En diuen "rice writting" perque aquestes xifres realment son poc més grans que un granet d'arros.

 

Vet aquí el més antic element de fotografia que tinc. Incloeixo tant càmeres com, en aquest cas, objectius.

 

Perquè aquest objectiu tipus Petzval fabricat per Lerebours et Secretan, mancat encara dels diafragmes Waterhouse (no s'havien inventat), fou fabricat a Paris el 1848 o els anys contigus. El seu nº de serie és el 3830. Per tant, data dels darrers moments del regne de França, en la figura de Lluis Felip I d'Orleans.

 

De fet, encara impresiona més considerar que quan es va fabricar, cap al 1847-1849, només feia uns 10 anys de la presentació del daguerrotip com a primer tipus de tècnica fotogràfica!

 

Costa veure'n les caracteristiques tècniques, però deu ser un f4.5 / 230mm (?) com la majoria de lens Petzval per a retrats. Compta amb el primitiu sistema de "washer stops" com a apertura; no existien ni el sistema Waterhouse, usual per al s. XIX ni molt menys, els diafragmes moderns.

 

Friso per a fer-lo servir, ja que encara no tinc brida on montar-lo en un càmera.

It is very interesting to see how some manufacturers of photographic lenses of the XIX Century (notably Lerebours et Secretan), engraved their glass elements of the lens with the same serial number as the whole set. This discovery can be very useful for uncovering counterfeits (even the old ones). They call it "rice writting" because these numbers are really a little bigger than a grain of rice. Take a look at the last link for more details about it.

 

Here is the oldest photography item I have, including both cameras and, in this case, lenses.

 

This Petzval-type lens, manufactured by Lerebours et Secretan, and still lacking Waterhouse stops (they had not been invented), was manufactured in Paris in 1848 or so. It's serial number is the 3830, at least since Lerebours et Secretan began serializing their lenses (arround 1845). Therefore, it dates from the last moments of the kingdom of France, in the figure of Louis-Philippe I of Orleans. And of the famous 1848 Revolutions.

 

In fact, it is even more impressive to consider that when it was made, around 1847-1849, it was only about 10 years since the presentation of the daguerreotype as the first type of photographic technique! Obviously it was first used to make daguerreotypes, at least until the wet plate collodion was discovered in 1851.

 

It's hard to see the technical features, but it must be an f4.5 / 230mm (?) like most Petzval lenses for portraits. It has the primitive system of "washer stops" as an opening; nor did the Waterhouse system, usual for the s. XIX no less, the modern diaphragms.

 

Frieze to use, as I still have no flange to mount it on a camera.

Không ai có thể chỉ sống một mình....

 

Nếu con người ta thực sự yêu thương nhau, họ sẽ không bao giờ bỏ rơi nhau.

Mình của một chiều muộn phiền. Không nỡ trách cứ những người thật dạ yêu thương. Không nỡ trách một ai khi mình đâu cho đi được điều gì. Mà có cho đi, cũng không chờ nhận lại. Bầu trời hôm nay có thể nhiều mây, chiều nay có thể chỉ mình và tách cafe buồn tẻ. Nhưng ngày mai sẽ khác.

 

Thì ra, cảm giác đau một lần chứ không hẳn sẽ là duy nhất. Nỗi đau ở tim như vết nứt thủy tinh, đau buốt mà khó mờ. Khó tan mất. Có ai đó bảo đừng từ bỏ hy vọng, dù hy vọng hết sức mong manh. Vì cuộc sống, vốn là những ranh giới, đúng không? Ranh giới trong Mùa Lạc của Nguyễn Khải chờ những con người can đảm. Mình thì sao? Dù thế nào, cũng không thể hèn nhát.

 

Những mảnh đời khốn cùng vẫn lấp đầy gần như hết những con phố mình qua. Để mình cảm nhận được sự may mắn hơn. Ít ra, có một nơi để quay về, có những người yêu thương và được yêu thương. Có gì đâu một nỗi đau như thủy tinh cứa? Chỉ là một vết thương nhỏ bé. Đôi lúc, vô tâm là không tốt. Nhưng quên đi có khi sẽ hay hơn. Học cách vỡ òa, học cách yêu thương , học cả cách lãng quên.

 

Ngày hôm qua vẫn chỉ là ngày hôm qua. Thác nước phải đổ xuống, mưa phải về nguồn, mây phải lên cao... Con người biết nhau, chờ đợi, yêu nhau, rồi mất nhau. Tất cả là duyên phận. Duyên đến thì duyên đi, duyên suy thì duyên sẽ tân! Dẫu sao, cũng từng yêu thương nhau đến thế mà. Bè bạn một thời. Kỷ niệm một thời.

 

Cha mẹ vẫn là hai người bạn cao niên và chung thủy. Không bao giờ bỏ rơi đứa con gái này. Không biết, làm sao để đền đáp công ơn. Con đang loanh quanh với mớ bòng bong tự tạo, những mối quan hệ đến và đi, mất và còn. Quên mất một mái nhà đang đợi. Những con người đang đợi. Phải cố đi hết, để còn quay về.

 

Nemo bảo "Luôn có ánh sáng cuối đường hầm...". Và dù số phận hay "thứ được an bài nào" đấy luôn mãi đánh đố con người như một trò chơi rượt đuổi không hồi kết, dù mâu thuẫn nối tiếp mâu thuẫn làm con người không thể đứng lại nhìn nhau. Dù cho... dù cho... dù cho thế giới sẽ kết thúc vào cái ngày mà ta không mong muốn, thì mình vẫn phải sống, và sống tốt mà thôi. Suy cho cùng, cái tâm không bao giờ phí phạm cho cách đối nhân, xử thế. Nụ cười không bao giờ phí phạm cho một thoáng nhìn nhau. Thử thách có cao vời vẫn có một cách nhất định để vượt qua.

  

"Cứ đi, rồi sẽ đến!"

 

Cái đại lộ đầy rẫy chông gai kia sẽ là một câu đố đánh vào lòng người. Vết cứa vẫn còn đau. Nhưng vì sẽ hối tiếc, nên đừng bỏ cuộc. Muốn sống, nghĩa là đừng tự bỏ hy vọng. Đừng tự giam mình trong cái suy nghĩ lẻ loi và cô độc. Vì không ai mãi mãi, chỉ có một mình.

 

Không ai có thể chỉ sống một mình.

- "Memento Mori", a written tree.

 

- This artwork, an iron tree, placed at the new cemetery Zevenberg in Fluitenberg, municipality Hoogeveen, is written and designed by designer/artist Albert Geertjes from Eelderwolde. The artwork is a gift of !Pet / Hoogeveensche Courant to all residents of Hoogeveen.

 

- The tree is eight meters high. The trunk consists of text, a poem of 150 characters about life and impermanence. The text is written to give the 'image' content and to construct the trunk.

The texts used for the branches are directly derived from 150 years obituaries in Hoogeveen.

 

- Memento mori (Latin: "Remember that you have to die") is the medieval Latin Christian theory and practice of reflection on mortality, especially as a means of considering the vanity of earthly life and the transient nature of all earthly goods and pursuits.

In art, memento mori are artistic or symbolic reminders of mortality.

Henley-on-Thames is a town and civil parish on the River Thames in Oxfordshire, England, about 10 miles (16 km) downstream and 7 miles (11 km) northeast of Reading, 10 miles upstream and 7 miles west from Maidenhead. One of its boundaries has the tripoint of Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire. The first record of Henley is from 1179, when it is recorded that King Henry II "had bought land for the making of buildings". King John granted the manor of Benson and the town and manor of Henley to Robert Harcourt in 1199. A church at Henley is first mentioned in 1204. In 1205 the town received a paviage grant, and in 1234 the bridge is first mentioned. In 1278 Henley is described as a hamlet of Benson with a chapel. The street plan was probably established by the end of the 13th century. As a demesne of the crown it was granted in 1337 to John de Molyns, whose family held it for about 250 years. It is said that members for Henley sat in parliaments of Edward I and Edward III, but no writs have been found to substantiate this. The existing Thursday market, it is believed, was granted by a charter of King John. A market was certainly in existence by 1269; however, the jurors of the assize of 1284 said that they did not know by what warrant the earl of Cornwall held a market and fair in the town of Henley. The existing Corpus Christi fair was granted by a charter of Henry VI. During the Black Death pandemic that swept through England in the 14th century, Henley lost 60% of its population. By the beginning of the 16th century the town extended along the west bank of the Thames from Friday Street in the south to the Manor, now Phyllis Court, in the north and took in Hart Street and New Street. To the west it included Bell Street and the Market Place. Henry VIII granted the use of the titles "mayor" and "burgess", and the town was incorporated in 1568 in the name of the warden, portreeves, burgesses and commonalty. The original charter was issued by Elizabeth I but replaced by one from George I in 1722. Henley suffered at the hands of both parties in the Civil War. Later, William III rested here on his march to London in 1688, at the nearby recently rebuilt Fawley Court, and received a deputation from the Lords. The town's period of prosperity in the 17th and 18th centuries was due to manufactures of glass and malt, and trade in corn and wool. Henley-on-Thames supplied London with timber and grain. A workhouse to accommodate 150 people was built at West Hill in Henley in 1790, and was later enlarged to accommodate 250 as the Henley Poor Law Union workhouse. Henley Bridge is a five arched bridge across the river built in 1786. It is a Grade I listed building. During 2011 the bridge underwent a £200,000 repair programme after being hit by the boat Crazy Love in August 2010. About a mile upstream of the bridge is Marsh Lock. Chantry House is the second Grade I listed building in the town. It is unusual in having more storeys on one side than on the other. Chantry House, next to the church. The Church of England parish church of St Mary the Virgin is nearby, and has a 16th-century tower. The Old Bell is a pub in the centre of Henley. The building has been dated from 1325: the oldest-dated building in the town. To celebrate Queen Victoria's Jubilee, 60 oak trees were planted in the shape of a Victoria Cross near Fair Mile. Two notable buildings just outside Henley, in Buckinghamshire, are:- Fawley Court, a red-brick building designed by Christopher Wren for William Freeman (1684) with subsequent interior remodelling by James Wyatt and landscaping by Lancelot "Capability" Brown. Greenlands, which took its present form when owned by W. H. Smith and is now home to Henley Business School The River and Rowing Museum, located in Mill Meadows, is the town's one museum. It was established in 1998, and officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II. The museum, designed by the architect David Chipperfield, features information on the River Thames, the sport of rowing, and the town of Henley itself. The University of Reading's Henley Business School is near Henley, as is Henley College. Henley is a world-renowned centre for rowing. Each summer the Henley Royal Regatta is held on Henley Reach, a naturally straight stretch of the river just north of the town. It was extended artificially. The event became "Royal" in 1851, when Prince Albert became patron of the regatta. Other regattas and rowing races are held on the same reach, including Henley Women's Regatta, the Henley Boat Races for women's and lightweight teams between Oxford and Cambridge University, Henley Town and Visitors Regatta, Henley Veteran Regatta, Upper Thames Small Boats Head, Henley Fours and Eights Head, and Henley Sculls. 1. Depuis un cauchemar, il y a 8 ans, j’ai la phobie des œufs. Mais étant donné qu’ils font partie intégrante de notre alimentation, j’en consomme mais de manière « transformée ». Du moment que ce n’est pas de l’œuf brute, tout passe =D ! J’ai aussi peur du lait caillé et des fours.

 

2. A l’âge de 6 ans, un prêtre trèèèès sympathique (ironie) nous a énoncé sans prendre de pincette à moi et d’autres enfants, que le père Noël n’existait pas…Je ne vous dis pas le choc. Je ne m’en suis véritablement jamais remise.

 

3. Sans être une croyante assidue, je suis fana de Jésus. Depuis toujours, son côté céleste et mystique m’attire (et puis il faut l’avouer, Jésus est trop canon 8)) ! De ce fait, je collectionne absolument tout à l’effigie de mon idole (sans tomber dans le mauvais goût) et rapporte tout à elle.

 

4. Après 10 ans de jeu et ce chaque vacance d’été, j’ai enfin terminé totalement Sonic aventure 2 sur Dreamcast (cette console n’est même plus produite X)).

 

5. On ne peut pas dire que je sois « bordélique », mais je m’adonne volontiers au camouflage. Je le fais si bien, que je ne retrouve pas la moitié de mes affaires. Heureusement, je suis d’un soin exemplaire avec celles des autres !

 

6. Je ne digère ni les fraises, ni le paprika que j’appelle synthétique (chips et autres). Une dose trop élevée de ces condiments est c’est la mort assurée du carrelage de maman, vu l’acidité… Miam !

 

7. Je suis assez extravertie. Je parle absolument à tout le monde. Pas plus tard qu’il y a deux jours j’ai fait copain copain avec un SDF et ai parlé avec sa femme au téléphone ; c’est une longue histoire. J’aime beaucoup le contact humain. Pour moi, c’est par le biais des autres que l’on peut pleinement être satisfait d’une vie simple et heureuse.

 

8. J’ai en exècre la fausse modestie. Je bouillonne littéralement face à cette pratique. bien entendue je ne dis mots (les conflits m’horipile, aussi). Mais malheureusement des personnes faussement modestes il y en a des tas.

 

9. Pendant toute mon enfance, mes frères que j’adore par dessus tout, m’ont traumatisée en me parlant de monstres. J’étais devenue leur larbin, car, si je désobéissais, leurs amis monstres se feraient une joie de me dévorer. Résultat des courses, j’en ai toujours peur.

 

10. A 11 mois, j’ai préféré me jeter de ma chaise haute et me fracasser le crâne, plutôt que de donner un bisou à mon frère. Pardonne moi Nicolas ;__;

 

11. Je ne parle pratiquement jamais de moi. Je ne vous dis pas le supplice que représente ce tag.

 

12. J’adore le vernis à ongle ! C’est une véritable obsession, j’en ai plus d’une quarantaine. Il m’arrive parfois d’en changer plusieurs fois par jour. Et quand une association me plait vraiment, je lui donne un nom !

 

13. Même si cette information ne me concerne pas directement, je tiens à la partager car elle m’a choquée. Il y a quelque mois, je me suis mise à compter le nombres de pots (plantes/fleurs) et j’en suis arrivé à *roulement de tambour* …. 98 ! 98 pots réparties dans une maison et bien entendu, à arroser.

 

14. J’aime beaucoup le Cinéma. J’ai conscience que les films que je regarde ne plaisent pas à tous. Mes réalisateurs favoris sont les incontournables frères Cohen à qui je voue un culte, j’aime aussi Martine Scorsese, Q. Tarantino, S. Kubrick et C. Nolan. J’ai aussi un attrait pour le Cinéma Danois et Allemand.

 

15. Un de mes rêves, outre de renconter Ozzy, est de faire de multiples voyages. Je suis actuellement en train d’en préparer deux liant l’agréable à l’utile.

 

16. Je suis amie avec Céline (Matsuo) depuis bientôt 8 ans et même si elle n’apprécie pas ces témoignages neuneux et mielleux, Céline est et restera à jamais l’une des personnes les plus important à mes yeux !

 

17. Mon groupe favori est The Doors (quoi ? c’est la fin du tag, je ne sais plus quoi dire moi !)

 

18. Je n’apprécie guère le sucré. Par contre, la salé je m’en fais péter le bide !

 

19. Quand je suis fatiguée, quand je m’ennui et quand j’ai faim : je suce mon pouce.

 

20. C’est ma passion des Pullips qui m’a poussé à utiliser mon pc de manière plus régulière. Et j’avoue, j’ai encore assez bien de mal à l’utiliser.

Se denomina CAPADOCIA a una región de Anatolia compuesta o mejor dicho, que abarca varios pueblos, entre ellos: Urgüp, Avanos, Kayseri, Aksaray, Nigde y Nevsehir.

El nombre se piensa que procede de "Katpadukya" que significa "Tierra de bellos caballos"

 

Esta región es única en el mundo y fue declarada patrimonio de la humanidad en 1985 por tener unas formaciones geológicas peculiares y sorprendentes cuando no menos espectaculares.

Hace unos 10 millones de años era una región volcánica en la que se fueron acumulando cenizas y lava, principalmente por la erupción de varios volcanes (Erciyes, Keciboyduran, Develi, Göllü dagi y Melendiz). Con el paso del tiempo y al parar la acción volcánica y secarse todo lo acumulado, esta especie de capa se volvió una piedra con textura porosa y ligera que se denomina "toba". Posteriormente el viento, el agua y otros fenómenos naturales fueron esculpiendo estas rocas dando lugar a las típicas formas que ahora se pueden encontrar y que son conocidas como "chimeneas de hadas".

 

El hombre también contribuyo para dar forma a este paisaje ya que al ver que era un material blando y fácil de excavar, construyeron viviendas a modo de cuevas excavadas en la roca.

También los cristianos construyeron iglesias igualmente excavadas y ocultas para aguantar los ataques e invasiones árabes

Muchas de estas iglesias tienen impresionantes frescos con mucho valor que con el paso del tiempo se han ido deteriorando. Una pena!!

Viaje en Globo: Te levantas sobre las 5:30 de la mañana para estar muy pronto debido a que los globos solo pueden volar a primera hora de la mañana para de esta forma evitar las corrientes de aire fuertes.

La capacidad de cada cesta depende del globo pero entran un mínimo de 8 y hasta 18 o 20 personas.

Una vez en el lugar (6:00 de la mañana) te ofrecen un desayuno al aire libre con el cielo todavía oscuro con unas mesas plegables mientras ellos desenrollan el globo y lo empiezan a llenar de aire caliente. Es algo bonito de ver, como van llenando mediante los quemadores el globo de aire que empieza tumbado a lo largo del suelo.

Una vez el globo lleno y habiendo tomado el desayuno, sube todo el mundo a la cesta.

En cuanto "el responsable" del globo abre los quemadores empiezas a subir "cagando leches" de manera suave y progresiva pero bastante rápido. Creo recordar que subimos a unos 700 u 800 metros de altura.

 

La subida como he comentado antes es suave pero progresiva al principio puede impresionar un poco pero enseguida se acostumbra uno y da la sensación de estar colgado en la cesta en medio del cielo.

Cuando se apagan los quemadores durante un momento se puede escuchar el completo silencio en mitad del aire y al momento, a unos 500 metros de altura ya, empieza a amanecer.

Ver amanecer desde esa altura y como va apareciendo el sol en todo su esplendor es espectacular.

Mientras el globo sigue subiendo poco a poco y ya con bastante luz del sol se puede contemplar el increíble paisaje y las formas caprichosas de las chimeneas.

El paseo discurre con mucha suavidad. Una vez que se ha alcanzado unos 700 u 800 metros se permanece a esa altura durante un rato y luego va bajando y acercándose a las formaciones rocosas, tanto que las puedes casi tocar con la mano.

 

Por cierto aunque en tierra no se sienta frío conviene abrigarse porque en cuanto subes a mas de 500 metros empiezas a sentir el aire bastante frío que aunque se tiene cerca el calorcito de los quemadores es necesario al menos una chaqueta.

Nosotros pagamos con tarjeta unos 120 € por persona hace ya 3 años, no se lo que costara ahora pero como se supone que es algo que haces una vez en la vida a nosotros nos pareció que merecía la pena, además el trato que te dan es bastante bueno.

Al final del paseo en el globo aterrizas pero realmente no sabes dónde tocara tierra el globo porque las corrientes de aire hacen que el aterrizaje no sea muy preciso. je je je. Una vez tocamos tierra nos dieron una copa de champagne y una especie de diploma a modo de acreditación y demostración de que has montado en globo.

 

De todas se puede contratar en otras empresas de las que hay varias por la zona.

El día que hicimos el vuelo en globo pudimos contar 10 o 12 globos volando.

Una imagen también digna de ver y totalmente recomendable.

En total desde que sales hasta que vuelves al hotel dura aproximadamente unas 4 horas y algo o 5 y el viaje en globo solamente puede durar también aproximadamente entre 50 minutos o una hora.

From which the following the atomic bonds of the food chain as I have come to understand its works and construction by doing the organic chemical reverse engineering of the worlds food supply (or some portion thereof) as a for instance, to compute the "food math" (of water per ton to make/bind a commodities Mass Equivalence/composition) that reveal the binding forces and stored in matter that are the result I hypothesis of: GAMMA/XRAY CYCLES™ working as the atomic binding force of the mass of the universe that also provides its movement with energy, in a closed loop system re-powered by the hydrogen/helium burned by the sun as light + the carbon/nitrogen/oxygen cycles and the supremely important hydrogen bond being broken up and down the food chain, as a ladder action holding the show together an a return run back to the Sun, in the completion of carbon/nitrogen cycles, working in conjunctions with all the forces and a stew of the elements, to bring us life as we know it past present and future; is my bid to describe the missing cosmic cog that runs the 3-4 ring circus of reality, like a watch, which we can time our perception and measure what I attempt to make sense so that science can find a subatomic on the same 'wavelength' that beats light and heat to the 'on' via this atomic chain reaction of logic which rambles/soars to/fro near book length in anther space in time which goes on to explain in detail why birds flock and don't crash, and fish schools move in synch via the radio power of this far fetched but mildly plausible 'radio'logical scheme. Perhaps it is the speed of light 'radio power control' that runs the fish and birds; but that does not so much matter as the fact that they 'are what they ate' which puts them on the same 'wavelength' in conjunction with their genome. Run by the power of the sun which is re-spun via by my thinking and logic the vector of the Gamma Cycle being run to completion by the en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C3%B6ssbauer_effect such that Bacterial or other single cellular source as vector + a noted Higgs field generator of mass in the movement of the atomic energy of the sun through of the food chain, from the depths of the ocean to mountain tops to the Sun -- the gasses made by bacteria power this not all together random 'Shot in the dark' from the Nevada Desert: conceptually FTL -- the 'boom' resides in the land of the fast, and fast thinking, E.g.; en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ThrustSSC where I happen to vacation and reside part time, so as to - - - be able to have the space to - - - - think to conclude with the thought that the terminal velocity of light the rainbow, and thus light is caused as a function of the 'Bacterial load' in the atmosphere which acts as a dynamic brake on its bands moving through time which curve under the load of close examination and the earths atmosphere to reveal the essence of Dark Matter at the key to combustion and life by its role in water and gas as understood to be only made by Bacteria as the missing link in the Universal combustion chain of command, as I piece the puzzle together with the given pieces to compete it above with out resorting to new ones.

I respectful disagree, and attempt to provide additional information in order to assist with understanding how my view came to be on this subject and if there is not some common ground as more data is generated in understanding how perspective can never stay the same as per the logic contained in a draconian application of the en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lorentz_transformation to a unwillingness to see the shadow of comprehension of the 'Big Picture' as being painted by reflections on the flip side of the micro being organic in Nature and, therefore the Universe.

1 - Pour commencer en beauté, j'ai pas tellement confiance en moi .. enfin ça dépend des situations, mais j'ai toujours peur qu'il m'arrive quelque chose, ou peur de ne pas être aux attentes des autres ..

 

2 - J'ai toujours peur d'être rejetée, et j'ai peur de ne pas m'intégrer aux autres

 

3 - Je suis quelqu'un d'introvertie et je préfère le calme et les soirées tranquilles, plutôt que des fêtes bruyantes. D'ailleurs je ne fume pas, et je ne bois pas.

Admiration car dans un sens, j'assume qui je suis et je suis motivée pour continuer à être différente et ne pas avoir besoin d'être comme tout le monde pour exister, et peur de l'isolement car la différence mène à l'isolement dans notre beau pays tricolore.

Santa Cruz de la Sierra es una de las ciudades más importantes de Bolivia, con una población de aproximadamente 1.5 millones de habitantes. Es la capital del departamento de Santa Cruz.

 

Historia

La ciudad fue fundada por el capitán espaňol Ñuflo Chávez el 26 de febrero de 1561, tras una expedición integrada por 158 españoles. La nueva población fue bautizada con el nombre de Santa Cruz de la Sierra en honor a la ciudad natal de Ñuflo de Chávez en Extremadura España. Esta fundación se realiza a orillas del arroyo Sutó, en la serranía de Chiquitos, como una avanzada al este de los territorios ocupados por España, próximo a donde hoy se asienta San José de Chiquitos. Y hoy aquel recordado como Santa Cruz la Vieja y se pueden observar los trazados que se hicieron para su población. La ciudad tuvo dos traslados; cuando Ñuflo de Chaves preparaba una expedición para llegar a territorios de los Moxos, fue muerto en el mes de septiembre de 1568 por un cacique de la parcialidad de los "avá" o guaraníes llamada itatín.

 

Por avatares históricos, después de muchas penurias, los pobladores de la primigenia ciudad, en 1590 se trasladaron a otra localidad en lo que es ahora el Santuario de Cotoca en manos del Cap. Lorenzo Suárez de Figueroa. En 1591 la mayor parte de los cruceños llegados de la Chiquitanía, siguen viaje hasta San Lorenzo Real de la Frontera, donde se asientan definitivamente, imponiendo el nombre de su ciudad natal Santa Cruz de la Sierra. Una pequeña parte de esa gente cruceña se quedó en Cotoca.

 

San Lorenzo Real de la Frontera fue fundada por el Capitán español Gonzalo Solís de Holguín en territorios de los Llanos de Grigotá el 21 de mayo de 1595. Santa Cruz de la Sierra, en el lugar de su primera fundación, en la Chiquitanía, tuvo una existencia de 44 años. Cuando estos cruceños eran trasladados por disposición de la Real Audencia de Charcas a San Lorenzo Real de la Frontera, antes de llegar se resistieron y se establecieron en lo que ahora es Cotoca. Después de 17 años de vivir en Cotoca, parte de su gente aceptó a los padres jesuitas y al entonces Gobernador Don Nuño de la Cueva, trasladarse al lugar donde hoy es la ciudad de Santa Cruz de la Sierra.Santa Cruz fue principalmente la región donde se crearon mayores asentamientos jesuitas, Misiones o reducciones indígenas. Puesto que en los alrededores aun existían una gran cantidad de pueblos de indigenas, muchos de ellos belicosos; la labor misionera de los jesuitas llega a la cúspide de su labor con la catequización del total de estos pueblos y la edificación de Conjuntos misionales que hasta hoy perduran y han sido nombradas por la UNESCO como Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad.

 

Las Misiones Jesuitas de Chiquitos llegan a su decadencia después de la expulsión de los jesuitas en 1767.

 

En la decada del 50, la construccion de la carretera a Cochabamba, inició la era del despegue economico cruceño, asi como tambien las luchas cívicas que lograron rescatar los ingresos económicos para el departamento, fruto de la explotacion de los hidrocarburos. Se crearon cooperativas de agua potable, energía eléctrica y teléfonos, sistema que luego de su gran éxito en Santa Cruz sería también implantado en el resto de los departamentos del país.

 

Entre 1966 y 1967, Se desarrolla la guerrilla comunista en el sector de Vallegrande perteneciente a Santa Cruz, finaliza con la muerte del Che Guevara.

 

En 1983 ocurre una lamentable inundación ocasionada por el hoy atractivo turístico Rio Piraí que se desbordó causando una inundación en 45 % de la ciudad de Santa Cruz y grandes pérdidas humanas y materiales.

 

En 2004 en Santa Cruz de la Sierra se organiza una cabildo por el comité cívico, abierto a las instituciones cívicas mediante el cual se logró un referéndum que en 2006 dió la posibilidad de modificar el modelo administrativo vigente, el referéndum consitía en esta pregunta:

 

¿Está Ud. de acuerdo en el marco de la unidad nacional en dar a la Asamblea Constituyente el mandato vinculante para establecer un régimen de autonomías departamentales, aplicable inmediatamente después de la promulgación de la nueva Constitución Política del Estado, en los departamentos donde este referéndum tenga mayoría, de manera que sus autoridades sean elegidas directamente por los ciudadanos y reciban del Estado competencias ejecutivas, atribuciones normativas administrativas y los recursos económicos financieros que les asigne la nueva Constitución Política del Estado y las leyes?..

Geografía

 

La ciudad de Santa Cruz de la Sierra, está situada en la margen derecha del río Piraí, el cual recorre hacia el norte para desembocar en el Rio Grande o Guapay, a una altura de 416 msnm, sobre la cuenca amazónica, en los llanos orientales como se conoce popularmente. El promedio de temperatura anual es de 25 °C el cual es un clima tropical.

  

Sus coordenadas son: 17°48'02''S / 63°10'41''O /-17.80056, -63,17806. El área ocupada por la ciudad es de aproximadamente 363 km2.

 

División

 

La ciudad de Santa Cruz de la Sierra, está dividida en 16 Departamentos Municipales. Estos a su vez se dividen en Unidades Vecinales (UV) y Barrios. Urbanísticamente está formada por 8 anillos concéntricos que varían de 1,5 km a 2 km de anchura cada uno. Tiene una superficie total de 36.300 hectáreas o 363 km2 y pertenece a la sección municipal homónica.

 

Clima

 

Cálido subtropical; la temperatura media es de 24,6 °C, la humedad relativa media 68 %. Los meses de mayor precipitación pluvial son enero y febrero.

 

Economía

 

Como capital del departamento más extenso del país, posee infraestructura de servicios públicos y carreteras y una activa vida comercial y de negocios. Los principales sectores que mueven su economía son los de hidrocarburos, empresas forestales y la agroindustria. Santa Cruz concentra casi el 80% de la produccion agricola nacional y ademas aporta al PIB con mas del 35% segun datos de los ultimos años. Posee tambien el aeropuerto mas importante del pais, lo cual la convierte en una ciudad ideal para ferias, eventos internacionales e inversiones.

 

Es importante mencionar, que en Santa Cruz el sector privado es la locomotora que impulsa el desarrollo, existen considerables inversiones en el sector de la construccion (edificios para oficinas y viviendas), el sector comercial (grandes cadenas de supermercados y centros de consumo masivo), el sector de la salud (clinicas privadas de alta tecnologia), el sector de la moda y la alta costura, espectaculos nacionales e internacionales, la banca, la agroindustria, la hoteleria y la gastronomia (altamente desarrolladas), mas de una decena de universidades privadas y todo aquello presente en una gran ciudad.

 

Turismo

 

Santa Cruz de la Sierra posee diversos destinos turísticos, siendo las siguiente rutas turísticas:

- Avenida Monseñor Rivero - Parque zoologico - La catedral - Parque El Arenal - Ribera del río Piraí - Las lomas de Arena

 

Monumentos y lugares de interés

 

Catedral Metropolitana:

Basílica Menor de San Lorenzo. Edificada por Fray Diego de Porres en tiempos del Virrey español Toledo. En 1770, el obispo Ramón de Herbosos reconstruyó la iglesia, encomendando al sacristán mayor Antonio Lombardo, la ejecución de las obras. En la época del Mariscal Andrés de Santa Cruz (1838), el viejo templo fue sustituido por una nueva iglesia de estilo ecléctico, proyectada por el arquitecto francés Felipe Bestres. Es notable por sus bóvedas de madera y por la decoración pictórica que las cubre. En el altar mayor se conserva una parte del recubrimiento original de plata labrada de la misión jesuítica de San Pedro de Moxos. También se exhiben cuatro relieves escultóricos que provienen de la misma misión.

Avenida Monseñor Rivero

Situada al norte de la ciudad, alberga locales de ocio, incluyendo restaurantes, cafés y pasteleria.

Museo Catedralicio de Arte Sacro.

El museo de la catedral es de una riqueza histórica, artística y material realmente impresionante. Sus obras de plata muestran la calidad del trabajo de los artesanos de los siglos XVII y XVIII. Conserva la más antigua joya eclesiástica boliviana donada en custodia a la iglesia en 1603. Parámetros litúrgicos y retratos antiguos completan el conjunto.

Plaza Metropolitana 24 de septiembre.

Alrededor de la plaza principal 24 de septiembre se levantan edificaciones de estilo colonial. Aquí se encuentra la Casa de la Cultura, Prefectura Departamental, Alcaldía Municipal, Catedral Metropolitana, museos y salones de exposición.

Mariposario

El mas grande de todo el mundo cuenta con infinidades de mariposas,tiene una laguna para pescar, se encuentra por el puente el Urubó, que cruza el rio Piraí.

Casa Municipal de la Cultura Raúl Otero Reiche.

Jardín Zoológico Noel Kempf Mercado.

Reservorio exclusivo de fauna tropical con ejemplares en condición de semi libertad con especies únicas como el oso de anteojos (jucumari), el perico o perezoso parabas multicolores.

Jardín Botánico.

Proporciona unas 500 especies catalogadas de la flora y otras 1000 variedades por catalogar.

Museo Etnofolclórico.

Ubicado en el Parque El Arenal, es una colección que contiene valiosas muestras del folclore local.

Parque El Arenal.

El parque "El Arenal", con una laguna e isla, constituye uno de los atractivos turísticos de Santa Cruz. Fue diseñada como reservorio de aguas pluviales del centro de la ciudad. El mural de Lorgio Vaca es digno de destacarse en este parque.

Centro Turístico y Cultural del Palacio Prefectural.

Plaza Metropolitana 24 de septiembre.

Museo de Historia Natural

Noel kempff Mercado. Centro de investigación y extensión que expone la flora, fauna, paleontología, minerales y rocas del Departamento de Santa Cruz. Noel Kempff Mercado fue un científico boliviano nacido en Santa Cruz de la Sierra, uno de los impulsores de la conservación de la naturaleza en Bolivia.

Cabañas del río Piraí.

Están ubicadas en el sector oeste de la capital, al final de la avenida Roca y Coronado, donde se puede disfrutar de un hermoso paisaje. En las cabañas se ofrecen platos típicos cruceños y deliciosos bocados. El río Piraí es para los cruceños un lugar preferido en los calurosos días de verano, cuya temperatura llega muchas veces a 40 °C. También se puede dar paseos en caballo o motos 'cuadratracks' por las playas del río, disfrutar de la pesca con red de sábalo en los meses de marzo a junio.

Parque Urbano

Situado en el centro de la ciudad y es un lugar donde se pueden practicar actividades deportivas. Está ornamentado con dinosaurios y un mástil con la bandera del departamento del departamento de Santa Cruz.

Lomas de arena de El Palmar.

Son dunas de arena blanca fruto de la erosión eólica distribuidas alrededor de lagunas donde se practica el deporte acuático. Su belleza es comparable a playas por el color de sus arenas.

Biocentro Güembé y Parque Ivaga Guazú.

Ambos importantes centros de deleite natural y recorridos ecológicos.

Aqualand y Playland.

Parques de diversiones acuáticos, únicos y los más grande en su género en Bolivia.

Carnaval de Santa Cruz".

Un derroche de belleza y alegría que comienza en diciembre, es decir de 2 a 3 meses con sus famosas precarnavaleras.
