Şavşat river is one of the rivers in Şavşat district of Artvin Province of Turkey. Jul has a clean water due to the effects of the Sahare Mountain in the Arsiyan Mountains. Giorgi Kazbegi, a Russian army general and geographer who visited the Shavsheti and Klarceti regions in 1874 during the last period of Ottoman rule, writes in his diaries that the Arsyani Mountains have taken on a rocky character in this part and have made the upper sources of the Shavshat river completely inaccessible.
Şavşat river, although its water decreases in winter, it has an exuberant flow in spring. It receives Mansurati Creek from the right, Amaneli, Soporo, Hantusheti, Balvana and Kucheni streams from the left. In Shertuli, Shawshat Tea and Imerhevi Tea unite. After this point, the stream takes the name of Archers Creek.
Şavşat river is the largest river of Şavşat district. For the first time from this stream, Georgian king IV. It was mentioned in a written source during the Bagrat period (1027-1072).

Şavşat Çayı, Artvin ilinin Şavşat ilçesindeki akarsulardan biridir. Arsiyan Dağları'ndaki Sahare Dağı’nın etkelerinden kaynaklanması nedeniyle temiz bir suya sahiptir. Osmanlı yönetiminin son dönemimde, 1874 yılında Şavşeti ve Klarceti bölgelerini gezen Rus ordusunda görevli general ve coğrafyacı Giorgi Kazbegi günlüklerinde, Arsiyan Dağları'nın bu kısımda kayalık karaktere büründüğünü ve Şavşat Çayı'nın üst kaynaklarını tamamen ulaşılamaz hale getirdiğini yazar.
Şavşat Çayı, kışın suyu azalmasına karşın, baharda coşkun bir akışa sahiptir. Sağdan Mansurati Deresi’ni, soldan Amaneli, Soporo, Hantuşeti, Balvana ve Kuçeni derlerini alır. Şertuli’de Şavşat Çayı ile İmerhevi Çayı birleşir. Bu noktadan sonra akarsu Okçular Deresi adını alır.
Şavşat Çayı, Şavşat ilçesinin en büyük akarsuyudur. Bu akarsudan ilk kez Gürcü kralı IV. Bagrat döneminde (1027-1072) yazılı bir kaynakta söz edilmiştir.

Tricyrtis is a genus of the botanical family Liliaceae (lily family, known in English as Toad Lilies, supposedly because many varieties have purple spotted, orchidlike flowers.
There are 16 different species and about 55 cultivars. Its native range is from the eastern Himalayas to eastern Asia, including China, Japan, Taiwan, and the Philippine Islands.
Toad lilies mainly grows in woods but can also be found in mountainous areas and on cliff sides.
Tricyrtis in general are late summer to late autumn flowering plants whose very exotic starry or bell-shaped flowers (8 to 12 cm) are borne on attractive arching stems, very similar to an orchid and passion flower. These occur in a wide range of forms usually spotted with a contrasting color.
Tricyrtis is een bloemengeslacht van lelieachtigen (Liliaceae), bekend onder de namen paddelelie en armeluis orchidee, maar ook tuinorchidee en bosorchidee. Er zijn 16 verschillende soorten bekend en ongeveer 55 kweekvormen. Met de naam bosorchidee wordt al een tipje van de natuurlijke vindplaats van deze bloemen opgelicht, namelijk de bosrijke berggebieden en ravijnen van de oostelijke Himalaya tot de eilanden voor de kust van oostelijk Azië (Japan, Taiwan en de Filippijnen).
Tricyrtis bloeit in het algemeen van de late zomer tot ver in de herfst. De langwerpige soms gevlekte bladeren zitten rechtop aan overhangende stengels. De trechter-, ster- of klokvormige 8 à 12 cm grote bloemen kunnen wit, geel, blauw of paars zijn en zijn meestal contrastrijk gespikkeld.
Een Tricyrtis is geen orchidee, maar voor 100% een lelie. De bloemen hebben in uiterlijk ook iets van een orchidee en een passiebloem, vandaar de populaire, maar verwarring gevende naam "armeluis orchidee".

The green tree python (Morelia viridis) is one of Papua New Guinea's most well known of snake species. Its range also extends to the western half of New Guinea, nearby Indonesian islands, and parts of Australia's Cape York Peninsula. It can be found in a variety of habitats including dry forest, swamp forest and cultivated areas, from sea level to 1,800 m elevation.
The green tree python is characterized by a relatively slim body. The species usually reaches a total length of 150-180 cm, but large females may reach 200 cm. The size also varies depending on the region of origin. Males can weigh about 1100-1400 g, females up to 1,600-1.800 g. Generally, they are a vibrant green in color but some adults are blue or yellow. They have a series of white or blue dorsal and/or lateral spots evident in most.
The diet consists mostly of small mammals, such as rodents, and sometimes reptiles and small birds.
De groene boompython (Morelia viridis) is een middelgrote slang uit de familie pythons (Pythonidae) die maximaal ongeveer 2 meter lang kan worden maar meestal kleiner blijft (circa 140 à 160 cm). De lichaamskleur is groen met gele of blauwe strepen en gele of witte vlekken. Mannetjes en vrouwtjes zijn lastig uit elkaar te houden. Vrouwtjes worden vaak wel langer.
De groene boompython komt voor in zuidoostelijk Azië; op en rond het eiland Nieuw-Guinea en de eilanden rond Nieuw-Guinea. Tenslotte in Australië in het noordelijkste puntje van de staat Queensland, genaamd Kaap York. De groene boompython leeft in tropische, warme en vochtige regenwouden die dichtbegroeid zijn. Het is een typische boombewoner die zelden de bodem betreedt. De groene boompython is te vinden van laaglanden tot een hoogte van 2000 meter boven
Door het gespierde lichaam, behendige grijpstaart en lange tanden is de python gespecialiseerd om vanuit een tak snel uit te halen naar een prooi. Hierbij wordt de staartpunt gebruikt als lokaas. Deze wordt heen- en weer gekronkeld waardoor prooien, als kleine zoogdieren, soms reptielen en kleine vogels, worden aangetrokken, en als ze dicht genoeg genaderd zijn slaat de slang bliksemsnel toe. De python is niet giftig en doodt zijn prooi door wurging.

The nine-spotted moth or yellow belted burnet (Amata phegea) with its 34 - 40 mm wingspan is a day-active moth.
Males are smaller than females and have thicker antennae.
The wings are blueish black or greenish black with white spots and metallic sheen. The number and the size of spots are quite variable. Usually there are six white spots on the front wings and two or three spots on the hind wings. The black body is quite long with a prominent yellow ring at the sixth segment.
The nine-spotted moth occurs naturally in Europe, especially in the south, and flies on warm sunny days from late May to early August. The species prefers drier areas, open ranges with shrubs and trees as well as open forests and warm, sunny slopes.
De phegeavlinder of melkdrupje (Amata phegea) is een dagactieve nachtvlinder uit de familie van de spinneruilen. Spanwijdte van de vleugels is 34 à 40 mm. De mannetjes zijn het kleinst.
De vleugels zijn blauwachtig zwart of groenachtig zwart met een metaalachtige glans en licht doorzichtige witte vlekken.
Het aantal en de grootte van vlekken zijn variabel. Meestal zijn er zes witte vlekken op de voorvleugels en twee of drie vlekken op de achtervleugels. Het zwarte lichaam is vrij lang met een prominente gele ring op het zesde segment.
De phegeavlinder komt in bijna heel Europa voor, vooral in het zuiden, en vliegt op warme zonnige dagen van eind mei tot begin augustus. De soort geeft de voorkeur aan drogere en open gebieden met struiken en bomen; ook in open bossen en op warme zonnige hellingen.
In Nederland heeft deze nachtvlinder populaties in de noordelijke helft van Limburg, het aangrenzende deel van Noord-Brabant en in de buurt van Bergen op Zoom. Buiten de bekende populaties worden elders af en toe zwervers aangetroffen.

Europese en uitheemse vlinders worden daar gekweekt.

Der Ausseer See lockt seit dem 19. Jahrhundert zahlreiche Städter an, die hier ihre Sommerfrische verbringen. Vor allem viele österreichische und deutsche Schriftsteller, wie Arthur Schnitzler, Hugo von Hoffmannsthal, Jakob Wassermann und Friedrich Torberg, fühlten sich von diesem Ort inspiriert.
Since the 19th century, Lake Aussee has attracted numerous city dwellers to spend their summer holidays here. Many Austrian and German writers, such as Arthur Schnitzler, Hugo von Hoffmannsthal, Jakob Wassermann, and Friedrich Torberg, have been inspired by this place.
Sitting on a bench in the shade of the Chapelle de la Charité, a woman in her seventies stares at a simple statue of the Virgin Mary. In full sunlight, five white metal chairs are at rest. As a photographer, I've always had a penchant for empty chairs. As a writer too. One of the first texts I published was called ‘Chaise Vide’. I wrote it in Cuba after walking alone early one morning on a beach near Havana. The empty chair had moved me enough to inspire me to write a text. It appeared in issue 3 of the magazine Sapriphage, which I've just checked by consulting the list of all my publications. Where can I find a copy of this magazine? Apparently not at home. But does that really matter? I don't really feel like rereading myself: it could be painful.
Even today, the empty chairs touch me. That's important to me. And I don't know why an empty chair touches me more than a statue of the Virgin Mary, whether it's the masterpiece of a great artist or not? I don't believe in the possibility of a mother's virginity, whether it was that of Jesus or not. I believe in the existence of Rabbi Yeshua, a rebellious rabbi of Judea, condemned to crucifixion like so many others, murderers and thieves, rebels and resistance fighters, who inspired a hermit sitting in a desert of stones, not on a chair, to invent the famous Jesus. For this hermit, this rabbi could not have been a simple rebel. The truth was too banal: Yeshua was undoubtedly the son of a poor Mariam, a young woman like so many others of the time. But that's about all. I don't have an answer to my question about the empty chairs.

Un banc et cinq chaises
C’est assise sur un banc à l’ombre de la chapelle de la Charité qu’une septuagénaire fixe une sobre statue de la Vierge Marie. En plein soleil, cinq chaises métalliques blanches sont au repos. En tant que photographe, j’ai toujours eu un penchant pour les chaises vides. En tant qu’écrivain aussi. Un des premiers textes que j’ai publiés s’intitule « Chaise Vide ». Je l’ai écrit à Cuba après m’être promené seul un matin très tôt sur une plage proche de La Havane. Cette chaise vide m’avait ému suffisamment pour m’inspirer un texte. Il a paru dans le numéro 3 de la revue Sapriphage, je viens de le vérifier en consultant la liste de toutes mes parutions. Où pourrais-je trouver un exemplaire de ladite revue ? Apparemment pas chez moi. Mais est-ce bien grave ? Je n’ai pas vraiment envie de me relire : cela pourrait être douloureux.
Aujourd’hui encore, les chaises vides me touchent. Voilà qui est important pour moi. Et je ne saurais dire pourquoi une chaise vide me touche plus qu’une statue de la Vierge Marie, qu’elle soit le chef d’œuvre d’un grand artiste ou non ? Je ne crois pas en la possibilité de la virginité d’une mère, qu’elle soit ou non celle de Jésus. Je crois en l’existence du rabbin Yeshoua, rabbin rebelle de Judée, condamné à la crucifixion comme tant d’autres, assassins et voleurs, rebelles et résistants, qui allait inspirer à un ermite assis dans un désert de pierres, non pas sur une chaise, l’invention du fameux Jésus. Pour cet ermite, ce rabbin ne pouvait pas être un simple rebelle. La vérité était trop banale : Yeshoua était sans doute le fils d’une pauvre Mariam, une jeune femme comme tant d’autres de l’époque. Mais c’est à peu près tout. Je n’ai pas de réponse à ma question sur les chaises vides.

Amazing stairs making bold designs running beyond the confines of the beholders minds. They have several signs of older fittings and renovations that keep their glory functional. Somehow they stand so well against the tests of times and float above the wavering heights of fashions staying an icon of their era and fitting testament of their fabulous form and very fantastic function as they like Jacob’s Dream Ladder somehow seem to spring forth from stone and generate a link between world’s of dream and of faith and of hope all together almost impossible and also all the more magnificent for being born of simple stone pillows that release intricate passageways out of our material marvels into our celestial contemplations.
Ascending and Descending are not very good with me at the moment as four broken toes on my left foot are hampering my struggles with elevation. The allure of these stairs may have been vastly increased by their increased difficulty to access. The focus upon them as hazardous areas for fresh injuries was an increased attention they did not require, as they are rather gorgeous without fear of falling.

moriva Alfred Hitchcock, il regista conosciuto superficialmente come "il maestro del brivido".
in realtà i suoi film avevano una serie infinita di strati e di letture, ancora più efficaci ed intriganti proprio per la chiarezza narrativa e l'estrema stilizzazione con cui venivano costruiti. la vetta nella costruzione di atmosfere di irreale realtà, di realismo astratto e di metafisica usando a modo suo i "metodi" e le strutture del fillm di genere. opere comprensibili a tutti e senza apparenti eccessi, ma con una forza e con una potenza espressiva raramente eguagliata. un mix irripetuto di elementi a formare un gruppo di opere dallo stile inconfondibile, con un impressionante uso creativo degli stereotipi del cinema americano, qui messi alla berlina presentandoli per eccesso o per difetto. personaggi ambigui realizzati con attori che perlopiù facevano i buoni negli altri film di hollywood. usando la loro faccia rassicurante, spesso si sconfinava nella mostruosità dell'essere umano che si nasconde dietro il sorridente uomo borghese.
i personaggi più commoventi dei suoi film non piangevano quasi mai. il genio dell'angoscia li lasciava rodere dentro, usando le inquadrature per suggerire lo stato d'animo. un oggetto, o un movimento di macchina, potevano urlare in sua vece. nessuno come hitchcock ha saputo descrivere così bene la repressione dei sentimenti, impossibili da tirare fuori con purezza in un mondo di feroci marionette. lo spettatore crede di vedere un film normale, magari un giallo. ma in realtà sta facendo un viaggio iniziatico e se si lascerà trasportare, scoprirà che il mondo hitchcockiano è un universo di fiabe malinconiche, in cui tutti hanno bisogno d'amore. bisogno che però spesso non trova riscontri o viene soffocato dalla codardia delle convenzioni.
[convenzioni che ci sono tutt'oggi, travestite da falsa libertà e falsa liberazione...se un morto squartato viene lasciato vedere da tutti e una scena allegra di sesso viene censurata-a meno che uno dei due non muoia durante l'atto, allora è arte!-, non siamo poi così moderni. siamo bigotti squallidi, anche con scene megahard crudo e di nudo...anche se ci sono parolacce e bestemmie. non importa, siamo bigotti lo stesso.]
...nel 1960 hitchcock ci mostra una donna che ruba per amore, e muore per mano di un personaggio frustrato e mentalmente castrato dalla madre, che ha la sfortuna di incrociare durante la sua piccola rivoluzione. il mood del film ci induce simpatia e pietà per la sua morte. e dopo anche per l'assassino, che in fondo è una vittima nel suo non riuscire a vivere l'amore per colpa della madre repressiva.gli altri personaggi del film sono "ragionevolmente" inglobati nell'ipocrita sistema americano, ed appaiono come burattini.
negli "uccelli" la protagonista gioca a fare la seducente con il "lui" di turno. ma solo dopo il cataclisma, si avvicineranno; oggi è una trama che è stata molto banalizzata in tanti film catastrofici, ma qui è nella sua pura essenza. purissima.
in "vertigo" un uomo distrugge la donna che ama perchè non riesce a farci sesso se non trasformandola in una figura mitizzata da un misterioso incontro precedente...ossessione contro passione. impotenza e malattia mentale. si potrebbe continuare a citare per ore, gli esempi sono infiniti...
in tutti questi film il sesso è in realtà una virtù di unione, e la catastrofe avviene proprio perchè problemi mentali, fisici o pratici ne deviano la buona riuscita, negando appunto al sesso stesso la sua proprietà purificante, legata all'amore.
...ed ecco che hitchcock, regista morto trent'anni fa e pieno di ossessioni, resta uno dei registi più moderni, coraggiosi e realmente eversivi. e romantici, nel senso nobile del termine.

non esagero quando dico che alfred hitchcock mi ha arricchito più di qualunque altro artista. se oggi coltivo delle sensibilità particolari, le ho scoperte e studiate assieme ai suoi film.

Langs de Dijle kan je 3 opmerkelijke huisjes aanschouwen. Het kleurrijke drietal dateert vanuit de 16e eeuw en is al jarenlang het uitgangsbord van deze gezellige trekpleister. De huizen hebben elk een unieke stijl en kleur en kregen door de jaren heen verschillende namen. Van links naar rechts heten de huizen: Sint-Jozef, De Duiveltjes en Het Paradijske.

One slow Saturday spent writting about Sylvia Plath
Un sábado aburrido que he pasado escribiendo un ensayo sobre Plath.
Like Sherlock Holmes’s magnifying glass writ large, the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope has been used to peer into an astronomical mystery in search of clues. The enigma in question concerns the globular cluster Ruprecht 106, which is pictured in this image. While the constituent stars of globular clusters all formed at approximately the same location and time, it turns out that almost all globular clusters contain groups of stars with distinct chemical compositions. These distinct chemical fingerprints are left by groups of stars with very slightly different ages or compositions from the rest of the cluster. A tiny handful of globular clusters do not possess these multiple populations of stars, and Ruprecht 106 is a member of this enigmatic group.
Hubble captured this star-studded image using one of its most versatile instruments; the Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS). Much like the stars in globular clusters, Hubble’s instruments also have distinct generations: ACS is a third generation instrument which replaced the original Faint Object Camera in 2002. Some of Hubble’s other instruments have also gone through three iterations: the Wide Field Camera 3 replaced the Wide Field and Planetary Camera 2 (WFPC2) during the final servicing mission to Hubble. WFPC2 itself replaced the original Wide Field and Planetary Camera, which was installed on Hubble at launch.
Astronauts on the NASA Space Shuttle serviced Hubble in orbit a total of five times, and were able to either upgrade aging equipment or replace instruments with newer, more capable versions. This high-tech tinkering in low Earth orbit has helped keep Hubble at the cutting edge of astronomy for more than 3 decades.
