Had an opportunity to organize a committee to do a “Take Your Son/Daughter to Work Day” when I worked at CDCR. This day revolves around parents taking their child to work for one day. In the U.S., it occurs on the 4th Thursday in April every year. We had a group of about 25 young people. We organized a educational but fun filled learning day for our co-workers children. The parents were pleased and the kids seemed to have had a really enjoyable day

When Igor Hincu founded a company making toys eight years ago, he had no idea he’d be saving lives with his production. But with the COVID-19 crisis, Igor made a quick decision to shift gears. When it became clear that Moldovan health workers often lack much needed personal protective equipment, his workshop near Chisinau started producing visors – plastic protective screens.
The equipment he used was a laser-cutting device, he purchased with support from UNDP and the EU. Four years ago, Igor received a grant through the EU’s Confidence Building Measures Programme, implemented by UNDP, to buy the device, which allowed him to expand business.
