As I turn off my work computer it's time to fire up my personal computer and make some updates to core code given Wordpress released security updates to their CMS product. I'd never noticed until the close up, those keys need a good clean.

I was late to work this morning. *Two* fender benders on Highway 17 meant my bus was 20 minutes late getting to the Train Station, so I missed my train. I caught the 8:22 northbound, but then a train ahead of us hit a car that somebody left on the tracks. Nobody was in the car, but service up and down the line was halted for over an hour while Caltrain cleaned up the mess, and I'm sure things are still delayed.
I and several other cyclists abandoned the train in Mountain View, from where I rode the 10 miles to work.
I'm an interpreter at a local technical school and the idea of being uncluttered definitely applies to my work desk. I always dust my keyboard, mouse, and monitor. I also make sure that my books and documents are on the left side of the monitor for easy access. It's minimalist and it makes my morning feel right.

A photograph made during September work week explorations with colleagues in the Big Reed Forest Reserve ... ...early morning paddles, hikes with lots of talk about the past and possible future of this old growth, considering forest succession, tree measures, spending time identifying plants, mushrooms, and critters, discussing the fate of arctic charr endemic to the pond, appreciating the diversity in this beacon of wilderness. ...but also jokes, Jack Daniels, guitars, and of course, my Holga toy camera.

One of the tool boxes I keep for work in the back of my van. It holds most of my basic hand tools I need for work. I got the tool box from an estate of a cabinet maker and it fits my needs better than any other that I have had. I also carry a canvas tool bag which I use to carry tools and small supplies to where I need them on the job site.
This is going to be the zombie girl from Dawn of the Dreadfuls book cover art. Temporary hair just to see what it looks like, I have another better dark brown middle part scalp coming for her. Trying to decide between Pure Neemo body and Licca body.

Lieutenant General Peter Devlin, Chief of the Land Staff and the Army Regimental Sergeant Major Chief Warrant Officer Giovanni Moretti visit the Canadian troops deployed to southern Afghanistan. They took that opportunity to highlight the work the Canadian Army has done, and to receive feedback from the troops.
Task Force Kandahar will continue robust security operations in conjunction with the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Afghan National Security Forces, and its coalition and civilian partners in order to eliminate insurgent violence and set the conditions for successful and sustainable governance, development and peace in southern Afghanistan.
