Half double crochet stitches with front post relief stitch in cream, purple cluster stitch;
Green and cream yarn are from Cascade Yarns, 100% Peruvian Highland Wool, and the purple is an acrylic I have had for years so no name attached.
My first attempt at handspinning with a drop spindle, Feb-March 2006. This was a beautiful tri-color "pumpkin" wool roving. I only bought a tiny bit of it, so this skein is all I have-- I really love how it turned out, but haven't figured out what I can do with such a small amount of yarn.
I turned into one of those internet yarn stalkers and scored a skein of Jared Flood's Grand Street Ink. I couldn't get a good shot of it, but it's the most beautiful deep purple wool/silk blend.
I don't know which I like better--Jared Flood's designs or his photography.
Hand-dyed using Jacquard acid dyes - I was trying for a straight black and magenta with white spots, but as it turned out the black was made from a brown base so some of that pigment leaked out. I really like the final result.
This is 76 yards of elann.com Peruvian Highland Chunky weight.

first successfully spun and plied yarn. Does this look overtwisted to you? After I plied it, it hung nice and loose and didn't twist back on itself.
