This is a captive wolf at the Northern Lights Wildlife Wolf Centre. It's located just west of Golden, BC. I went looking for wild wolves but couldn't find any so it was a pleasure to photograph these ones.

Remake of an old Illustrator/vector work - now in Photoshop.

I keep doing things like that just to check if I make any progress in my skills.

And yes there is slight improvement - but as always - I feel there’s even more to get better at.

Seen at the small zoo in Big Bear California. Grey wolves can be black, grey, brown, or off white like this one. This one still has its winter coat.

This grey wolf had a particular interest in me. I think if it had not been fenced in, it would have tried to separate me from the group of people I was with. It followed me as I walked by the enclosure and followed me in the other direction when I turned around. There were even small children in the group that the wolf had no interest in.

mrs wolf spider is going to have babies soon. I hoped I could be there for the birth and was almost tempted to keep her for a while as a pet. I like the idea of a spider that carries all her babies on her back or at least the taking photos of it part; - )

All wolf spiders have three rows of eyes ... and carry their egg cases around like this.

Canis Lupus 'Nuka' captured during a wolf walk photography tour of the UK Wolf Conservation Trust ( Beenham Farm ). This is the dominant male in the Beenham pack handled at the trust. An excellent experience with such charismatic animals. The trust holds the largest pack in captivity in the UK. This is my practice for a future North America trip in the wild. Guided by Bob Brind Surch of 'Natures Photos'.

I joined a small group of photographers who visited a local rescue zoo and sanctuary yesterday. This gorgeous wolf was one of the residents. Several of the other colorful residents in comments below (all clickable). We had great weather as it warmed up to nearly 68 degrees! Hope you are having an awesome day!

Brrrrrrrrrr. This snow on my nose is cold.

Possibly the most incredible moonrise I have ever witnessed. This was the "Wolf moon" of January 2019. Later this evening it would become the lunar Eclipse event. Seeing it peak over and then rise above Mamquam mountain right at sundown was quite the sight. Some people sitting near where I was positioned, but facing the other way, turned to see this and gasped audibly. It was astonishingly powerful to witness this event. The clouds hanging in the valley being illuminated from above by full moon's glow really added something special to the scene. This IS a composite image, because it is impossible to expose for the moon and the landscape in such a high contrast scene.
