Grey wolf at the BC Wildlife Park.
Scientific name: Canis lupus
Taken at the BC Wildlife Park, Kamloops, BC, Canada.

90002 'Wolf of Badenoch' at Preston on the rear of LSL's 1Z92 Carlisle to Euston 'Royal Scot' charter on December 12th 2020. The name 'Wolf of Badenoch' was originally carried by the now scrapped 87027.
This is an image of a wolf spider taken in the same area as Saturday's upload.
There are a few differences between this wolf spider and the one I uploaded on Saturday. The other one has a plate at the top of the junction between head and abdomen, the abdomen itself has a different pattern and of course it is carrying its egg sac at the front instead of the rear. Judy Gallagher suggests that the one on Saturday could be a Fishing spider. I really hope so, as it would be a first for me :-)
A couple of gray wolves pose nicely for me.
Wish I could say I snuck up on them and got this shot at 122mm. Instead I enjoyed some quality time with several wolves at West Yellowstone's Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center. This was my favorite pair. A stop here is highly recommended if you're ever in West Yellowstone.
Enjoy a wonderful weekend!

I was somewhat impressed with the clarity of the water in the western Montana 'pond' which allowed such wonderful reflections of this Timber Wolf. I almost think he scared himself with his own reflections.

I'm not sure how much I'll be on Flickr today! I'm feeling a little under the weather. Hopefully I'll feel better a little later to catch up with all your beautiful photos. I want to thank everyone for being so kind and such great friends here on Flickr and wish you all a very nice Friday. Hugs!
“People who entered the Courtyard without an invitation were just plain crazy! Wolves were big and scary and so fluffy, how could anyone resist hugging one just to feel all that fur?
“Ignore the fluffy,” she muttered. “Remember the part about big and scary.”
― Anne Bishop
Honestly, that was exactly what I was thinking as one of the wolves sat right in front of me, looking me in the eye.... so fluffy!! Beautiful thick fur that I so much wanted to stick my hands into. Yes, I would have loved to have hugged the wolf!
An obligatory photo spot, no matter how many times you've done it! Looking west toward Pagosa Springs. I remember riding bikes down Wolf Creek when it was a two-lane road "shaped like a malaria germ," according to C.W. McCall.
I recall one time in the 80's when three of us got tickets up there. It wasn't safe to pull over, so the Colorado trooper quickly collected our licenses and told us to meet him at the Post Office in South Fork. Never mind, we were headed the opposite direction. Fun times.
Es una especie de mamífero placentario del orden de los carnívoros. Los lobos son cazados en muchas áreas del mundo por la amenaza que representan para el ganado, así como por deporte.

My highlight from Abraham Lake....
Fate whispers to the wolf: "you cannot withstand the storm."
The wolf whispers back; "I am the storm"
This is a photograph of a Wolf when it was still some distance away. It was trotting along at a brisk speed and looked in my direction with a curious expression with one eye half closed. The Wolf is the largest of the canids (dog family) and the species from which all domestic dogs originated, from Great Danes to Chihuahuas. That luxurious fur it sports in winter enables it to withstand temperatures to -40 °C. They are quite common on the Tibetan Plateau where I photographed this individual. They feed mainly on large herbivores but will opportunistically take hares, pikas and birds. They usually live in small packs of five or more individuals. They travel widely, especially at night, so we were quite lucky to find this individual in broad daylight.
