according to finney farm lore, wizard is a former college professor who bicycled away from all of his material possessions years ago and let life take him where it would. now he lives in a one-room cabin that his friend matt built for him in the woods, where he lights his nights with olive oil lamps and gathers his water from a pump, and where a collection of his hand-carved wooden spoons and combs adorns his walls. he is a gentle, grandfatherly man who calls himself a suburban refugee, harmonizes with the farm folk ensemble when they cover johnny cash, and used to walk to downtown mount vernon every friday with his peace sign and stand outside of the courthouse, jennie’s daughter willow sometimes standing with him in solidarity.
