A Monkey, or better... a Barbar Macaque, is looking at his surroundings. Tons of people have gathered again alongside the walls that border his grounds. A couple of young boys are out and about, yelling and screaming like they just dont care. The monkey sees them, takes a bite from his apple and just keeps sitting there. One of the boys yelles at him, saying things like "Hey, stupid monkey, jump for me!"

But the Monkey wont budge. He just keeps calm and stares at them. The boys are starting to jump in anger and trow twigs and pebbles in his general direction. Non of them hit their mark.

"That damned monekey doesnt do anything!" They yell with red cheecks and mean looking eyes.

After a while, the boys leave with anger and frustration in their hearts... But the Monkey... well... He made them jump without even uttering one, single, word... and takes another bite from his apple with bliss in his heart.

So... who's the stupid monkey now?

Torres del Paine is a national park in the Extreme South region of Patagonian Chile. It is located in the southern tiers of the Andes and features mountains, lakes and glaciers.

The Torres del Paine (Spanish for "Towers of Paine" and "Paine" is the old indigenos name for the colour blue), three immense rock towers give the park its name.

Other attractions include the Cuernos del Paine, Grey Glacier, Lago Grey, Lago Pehoe, Lago Nordenskjöld and Lago Sarmiento. Jutting out some 2800m above the Patagonian steppe, the Torres del Paine are spectacular granite pillars that dominate the landscape of what may be South America's finest national park. These breathtaking spires are flanked by the summit of Paine Grande (3050m) and the sharp tusks of black sedimentary peaks known as Los Cuernos (The Horns; 2200m to 2600m). Yes, these are the famous Patagonian mountains that you see on posters and book covers all over the world.

But the park is not just mountains. Trails meander through emerald forests, alongside and over roaring rivers, past radiant blue glaciers, azure lakes and up to jaw-dropping lookouts. You can hike into the vast openness of the steppe, heading to less-visited lakes and glaciers, all the while keeping an eye on the looming peaks. That is when the weather is clear. Unpredictable at best, weather systems can sheath the peaks in veils of clouds that hold for hours, if not days. Even then, the park has its allure - but it is always wise to plan a few extra days to make sure that your trip isn't torpedoed by a spot of bad weather. The best-known and most spectacular summits are the three Towers of Paine. They are gigantic granite monoliths shaped by the forces of glacial ice.

The South Tower of Paine (about 2,500 m) is now thought to be the highest of the three, although this has not been definitely established. It was first climbed by Armando Aste.

The Central Tower of Paine (about 2,460 m) was first climbed in 1963 by Chris Bonington and Don Whillans, and the North Tower of Paine (about 2,260 m) was first climbed by Guido Monzino.

One of my Blue Jays visiting the bird feeder. They are such characters. They sqwauk if I don't bring their morning offering of peanuts soon enough, sqwauk at each other and fight and watch me from the trees. They are a regular bunch of comedians, very entertaining.

We visited a ceremony on the shore of Lake Batur where they were holding a purification ceremony before Nyepi Day (day of silence) on 28 March 2017

What an absolutely amazing day it was weather wise today. From sunrise to set the sun was glaring down and reaching temperatures of plus 30. I wanted to come out to Corstorphine as there was a few things I wanted to so but first I wanted to check out the latest giraffe so I thought I would get a snap or two while I was there. Night of Three Wise Men

Vilanova i la Geltrú / Catalonia

In Spain from the nineteenth century began the tradition of turning the night of Kings into a children's party with gifts for children, in imitation of what was done in other countries on Christmas Day, in tribute to the Saint Saint Nicholas oriental. It was in 1866 when the first cavalcade of the Three Wise Men was celebrated in Alcoy, a tradition that extended to the rest of the country and later to other countries, especially countries of Hispanic culture.

Alternate take on this week's Looking Close... On Friday theme: Three.

The three wise monkeys are a Japanese pictorial maxim, embodying the proverbial principle "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil"

The three monkeys are Mizaru, who sees no evil, covering his eyes; Kikazaru, who hears no evil, covering his ears; and Iwazaru, who speaks no evil, covering his mouth.

The proverb and the image are often used to refer to a lack of moral responsibility on the part of people who refuse to acknowledge impropriety, looking the other way or feigning ignorance. It seems like a visit from Mizaru, Kikazaru and Iwasaru might be helpful at this moment in time...

This is the Harbor Freight Tools hardware store located at 129 Ridgeview Road located in the Ridgeview Shopping Center in Wise, VA. It opened in part of the former Kmart in fall 2016; interestingly, in order to open this store, the old garden shop structure was taken down.

Dear friend, here are 5 things you should know:

1. Like it or not, we are ALL sinners: As the Scriptures say, “No one is righteous—not even one. No one is truly wise; no one is seeking God. All have turned away; all have become useless. No one does good, not a single one.” (Romans 3:10-12 NLT)

2. The punishment for sin is death: When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned. (Romans 5:12 NLT)

3. Jesus is our only hope: But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. (Romans 5:8 NLT) For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23 NLT)

4. SALVATION is by GRACE through FAITH in JESUS: God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. (Ephesians 2:8-10 NLT)

5. Accept Jesus and receive eternal life: If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9 NLT) But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. (John 1:12 NLT) And this is what God has testified: He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life. (1 John 5:11-12 NLT)

Read the Bible for yourself. Allow the Lord to speak to you through his Word. YOUR ETERNITY IS AT STAKE!

Sincerely,

Someone who cares about you
