Old And Wise
The Alan Parsons Project
As far as my eyes can see
There are shadows approaching me
And to those I left behind
I wanted you to know
You've always shared my deepest thoughts
You follow where I go
And oh, when I'm old and wise
Bitter words mean little to me
Autumn winds will blow right through me
And someday in the midst of time
When they asked me if I knew you
I'd smile and say you were a friend of mine
And the sadness would be lifted from my eyes
Oh, when I'm old and wise
A fantastic morning out in the dense fog at Richmond Lowlands this morning.
We had been watching the weather conditions for this area since Wednesday night and everything fell into place for what we wanted.
This was one of the very last images shot this morning as we were about to head off for a coffee.
So much to shoot here over the coming months.
Hope you like “Old And Wise”
Cheers, Mike

A Westie and a Schnauzer dressed like two Wise Guys and wearing sunglasses and suits
Prompt: An artwork of two dogs, one is a West Highland White Terrier and the other dog is a salt and pepper Schnauzer, dressed as mafia gangsters in pinstripe suits with white shirts and ties, wearing fedora hats and sunglasses and smoking cigars, Westie ears are perked up, against a dark background,

Sometimes in our lives
We all have pain
We all have sorrow
But if we are wise
We know that there's always tomorrow
Lean on me
When you're not strong
And I'll be your friend
I'll help you carry on...
For it won't be long
Till I'm gonna need somebody to lean on

Another one from the Birds of Prey work a few months back that I forgot about and wanted to share....
Just a wonderful owl as its perched in the dense forest. I just think they have that aura of absolute wisdom in the way they stare into the distance
Processed quite harshly as wanted to get the forest vibrancy and denseness to show.
A wise old owl lived in an oak
The more he saw the less he spoke
The less he spoke the more he heard.
Why can’t we all be like that wise old bird?

Here is my version of the well knowed "Three wise monkeys"
I wanted to build a funny version of them but decided to go for a classic version instead.
Hope you'll enjoy them ;)

'Prophets Speak as Prophets Must,'
Prophets speak as prophets must,
Whether the hearer bends the ear.
A prophet's words are wisdom spoken and
Judicious lives born before men.
If the prophet remains silent?
How will the world know its horrors?
The message may be unwanted,
But love has sent it.
Telling the truth killed the Christ
But such a life was not misspent.
Courage speaks in the maw of human indifference.
If you or I do not speak
What hope has this world?
For what value are those who proclaim peace and pleasantries
Before a looming whirlwind?
There it is, in the knowing of self
And valuing just being,
How precious then, is even mere existence.
Hence, you arrange the words aright
And thereby erect a human edifice worthy of emulating
More sad is wisdom contained in a human breast
And eyes turned inward in despair.
Then - grieve for a time, for the sorrow is just,
And orate you must.
For love has sent it.

As I sat on the pier at Bodega Harbor watching several Common Loons fishing I was struck by their elegant & serene beauty & how very 'wise' they appeared to me!
This one swam up very close to us as if questioning our reason for being there aiming cameras at it!

Today's story and sketch "by me" you see Slim Whipsum, the year is
1935 in Broken Drum Indiana. Slim is in the middle of the strangest
day of his life. Slim will never forget this day, and will have flash
backs of the day he spent with this very Wise Tree.
Slims day began like any other morning, he woke up showered
brushed his teeth, kissed his wife Malena goodbye, drove his new 1935
ford touring roadster to the Dimension Two Moon Pie Drive Thru, ordered
a cup of coffee and a Pecan Moon Pie, and as he was driving to his
job at Apes Electric, Slim bit into the moon pie and suddenly he was
no longer in Broken Drum but in another dimension, a strange and silent
haunting place next to a mumbling Spirit tree, that softly told Slim
he was in the place customers of the Dimension Two Moon Pie Shop
ended up when they forgot to tip Zooelda, the Gypsy Lady at the Drive
thru window, and that if he looked up he would see the Voodoo Doll Zooelda
made in his likeness with pins poking out of it, but he was lucky and
would only be here for 24 hours, soon he would be back in line at
Dimension two, and be sure not to forget to tip Zooelda or he could
become a Spirit Oak himself.
The Spirit Tree then explained to Slim he had committed the worst offence
a Gypsy Husband could do, he forgot Zooelda's birthday forty years ago
and was turned into a Spirit Oak. The two spent the next twenty four
hours talking about his 35 Ford and the annoying Flying Saucer that
kept buzzing overhead, and in the middle of a sentence Slim was back
third in line, digging in his wallet for a tenner, until next time
