Tram wires used to make me feel so claustrophobic. They were one of the many reasons I never saw myself living in Melbourne. Now I think they're kind of cool and spiderwebby. Spiderman, Spiderman, does whatever a Spiderman does...
This is what happens when you scratch your lens. I hadn't noticed the scratch till I tried to take this shot and the sun sparkled off it causing this effect. So reproducible , perhaps not unless I use that camera again.
The braid is just about completed, so little free wire remains it no longer needs to be, nor will it stay, on the EZ Bobs.
This braid is called Yatsu Se; the bundles move over the top of the disk, rather than over the center. It's fairly easy; keeping tension even on the wires is important.
I believe this is used in conjunction with gardening, possibly to twist wire at the junctions of lattice trellises
Telephone and electrical wires are the bane of photography, so I've recently decided to turn them into a photographic subject. Here's my most adventurous effort yet in my occasional "Wired" series, a photo of a pole and wires reflecting on the surface of a small lake, shot on 35mm film and digitally processed.
Spinning burning wire wool to create falling 'sparks' of light. It's a really cool effect - look it up (and be safe, don't attempt without proper safety equipment etc.)
