The block on the left was one of the ones used to keep large numbers of ordinary prisoners until their confessions had been wrung out of them. After some of the prisoners attempted to commit suicide by throwing themselves over the balconies rather than face more torture, the balconies were fenced in with wire!

Here's a wire wheel on a beautifully restored Model A. Cars were so much simpler and elegant back then.

Found this gorgeous little manakin on the west bank of the Rio Negro, in partially flooded lowland forest. Note the long tail filaments.

By looking at this you can see how high up we live.

snapped this as i went to pick my son up.

to be honest im getting a bit lazy with this project, i dont want to quit i just need to make a bit more effort!!

At the moment ive just got stock photography on my mind, what to upload and take photos of.

im going to go back through the archives to see if i have anything so expect random uploads from time to time!!

These things are a great invention, I use they to keep my old fences tight.

The wire lath is a real pain to work with. The mortar doesn't break off easily (I didn't want to hammer too hard for fear of damaging the wall on the other side), and it's hard to pull the lath off the studs.

I found that once the tiles were removed, I could pry the lath off the studs. You'll note that I'm wearing heavy leather gloves for this job, because the wire lath is incredibly sharp (one website said "This stuff makes a scalpel look like a Twinkie.")
