Winter grips Minneapolis coating the landscape with snow. The daily CN transfer trots over the Soo Line bridge on its way to the Northtown transfer yard. I love the snow, love the bridge, and and pleased to grab this shot with the only CN presence in the area.
When you look through my photo stream, you will find many more shots of the Evenburg. It's only a 5 minute walk from my house and nice in every season. I like it most in May, when everything becomes green again. There is also a pleasant little river nearby for longer walks.
Winter mist and sunlight draws me back again and again to these magical sights these conditions produce.

The snow fall has changed the atmosphere creating a winter wonderland. Looking down the Military Canal , flanked by snow, was such a calming and peaceful experience. Nature always surprises.
Winter is the coldest season of the year in polar and temperate climates, between autumn and spring. Winter is caused by the axis of the Earth in that hemisphere being oriented away from the Sun.
Winter Beauty
One from the Galloway Forest yesterday on a beautiful snowy day near Laurieston. A day with perfect conditions, that had everything and the benefit of being able to explore the forest with no one else around.

The lake is partly frozen over and the water birds are peacefully gathering in the open part of the lake.

Going to work that day in 2023 I had to stop here to enjoy this wonderful view.
This view is now not the same anymore. They use this part to build houses. on both sides. So this will be a sweet winter memory❄️
Found this tableau on a neighborhood walk in early January. Checked again this weekend (Feb. 5) hoping to get some more shots but the berries are all gone.

A recent winter scene in the woodlands with some footsteps in the snow... It's always interesting to see the snow when it first arrives as it looks so nice and clean, but a bit of human presence changes all that!
Another painterly effort. I love the creative process these images require, and fittingly, winter provides me with the time and mind set to do them. I often feel most creative in this meditative and cloistered season. Hope you enjoy!
WINTER
Winter's cloak along the limb, Winter's breath upon my skin. Days are short and nights are long, while winter sings her chilly song. Snowflakes scamper through the air, and bear sleeps soundly in her lair. Winter's hand is firm on the reins, 'til she packs her things and heads home again.
