What I usually do with drive-bys that aren't very sharp - save them for Sundays! I wanted to blur this, but I'm never very happy with my processed blurs, including this one. So I used a combo of jixipix and pse filters. Hope the new year is off to a good start for you.
There is a section of road north of us called the Ferndale "flats". It is notorious for having white outs at that specific site when the rest of the way is clear up the Peninsula. Snow drifts accumulate pretty quickly on the highway in the right conditions and even the snowplough can't keep up until the winds die down.

2007.....During a similar weather pattern......early, hard winter, followed by an extended January thaw.
The low winter sun can conjure up wonderful colours in the morning sky. But you never know in advance whether it will happen and if it does, you have to be quick because it often only lasts a few minutes and it's already over again!
I've been spending the last few evenings at one of my favourite spots catching some amazing Winter sunsets. There's nothing like a bit of beach time with my camera to sooth the soul and calm the senses.
Pictured here is the breakwater at the end of the St.Kilda pier and just to the right of this pic you can see people gathering near the waters edge . . . that's because at dusk, from in and amongst those rocks, penguins will appear.
It's quite a wonderful sight and even more amazing to think that only 8km away is the hustle and bustle of the city!
Listening to the crunch of the snow under your feet, following with your eyes the tracks of people, their dogs or the smaller paw prints of some cats or rabbits, feeling the cold of your cheeks, seeing the steam from your breath disappear... That and more is winter.

WINTER WONDERLAND…
The world changes with frost or/and snow, you see things you did not know were there.
A silence envelops you, sound doesn't travel so well anymore, but the air is crisp, the cold fills your lungs and makes your eyes sparkle and cheeks blush.
AAAhhh I love the cold, right ! Lol.

It was cold and the trees the branches were white with frimas. This garage or barn emerges from this landscape. Quebec, Canada.

A landscape of winter of Shyam valley of Ladakh. Temperature remains -9 degree during day and nights are more colder. When I took this picture in January 2020 , I had no idea after 2 months whole world scenario would change.
