Been wanting to get a decent shot of Edinburgh with snow and its taken a few years as not often we get lying snow.
There was a baltic wind so challenging conditions so glad I made the effort.
My biggest issue is my hands as can't seem to find decent gloves that keep the hands toasty but allow the use of buttons on the camera so any options appreciated.

The weather lately has been anything but winter-like, but I'm not really complaining. From a few weeks ago in Superior.
wonderful weather with lots of sun, but also kinda cold, there was a thin layer of ice on the water here in the Bieslandse Bos.

I love how the low winter
sun can gently send its flows
of light throu the bushes
and magically light up translucent
layers of white.

This is an image I just reprocessed specifically for canvas. It's one of my all time favorite images. It was taken in 2006 while snow camping in the Mt. Hood wilderness. It was one of the most peaceful and memorable moments of my life. It was -10 degrees, my boots were frozen solid and I had just weathered 3 days of storms, but on this morning there was no wind and it was absolutely silent. I've never experienced such beautiful tranquility.

The magic of the winter.
A lonely light in the forests of the bavarian forest.
Gently glittering evening light streaks snow cover, the trees.
They are old trees.
They stand in lonely secluded surroundings.
The way to these places is difficult.
Long the ascent continues there.
You do not know what to expect.
One hopes to experience a winter magic.
Faraway snowy mountains lit by dim winter light.
Winter is beautiful but very cold here and it lasts so long.
A foggy winter sunrise over a frozen lake. The typical winter landscape often presents a subdued palette of whites, browns, grays, and soft greens—a serene, cold, and understated scene. Here, I've infused a touch of warm vibrancy to breathe life into the usually muted winter hues.
When snow and ice are fading from the Canadian Rockies, I am fortunate to capture the last winter scene, cool and quiet, which seems to bring a lonely mood to any visitors. Even though the sun is still bright, the clouds are still dramatic, winter is absolutely leaving us.
this winter is dark and dreary and there's not much light to shoot pictures, so I'm posting this from March last year. :)
