"When February sun shines cold.
There comes a day when in the air.
The wings of winter slow unfold.
And show the golden summer there."

It takes a long time to get the Great Egret in this position. You can stand there for a couple of hours and wait and wait............

I would rather have eyes that cannot see;
ears that cannot hear;
lips that cannot speak,
than a heart that cannot love
The intricate detail of this amazing moth's wing is so beautiful. Reminds me of a dream catcher. Blows me away that this is all created inside a small cocoon from a vibrantly coloured caterpillar. Nature is truely awesome.
Cropped from full frame 100mm macro lens set on close :)

trying to pull something out of a bad photo. Just liked the straight on position and the outstretched wings of this little hummer.
I caught this Black-crowned night heron landing in the cattails and reeds before he tucked its wings. Last evening we watched a sunset and we saw more black-crowned night herons than at any time before, they were lying in wait.
It felt good to get out in some nice morning light this morning! Haven't even had time for a little bit of photography lately! Working way too many hours!

Rainy day in Bethesda, Maryland. We lived in Bethesda in 2014, up Woodmont a few blocks in a condominium called Lionsgate. Bethesda is a great place.
