I promise, this is the last one of Shiprock! Shiprock, a monadnock rising 1,583 feet above the high-desert plain of the Navajo Nation in San Juan County, New Mexico. This rock formation is the erosional remnant of the throat of a volcano that stood above here over 27 million years ago. Shiprock and the surrounding land have religious and historical significance to the Navajo people. It's rare in February to have sunlight in the morning even with freezing temps. It is crisply beautiful outside...the blues are so blue, and the Madrona trees are red against the grays and browns. And fresh little tops of Narcissus and Crocus are poking through the soil. I am grateful for the beauty here. My art table is ready for today's project with paints ready.

I have a branch for a perch right outside the glass for the birds to land on! When people come into the office I get zero eye contact, they watch the birds landing behind me.
Dawn, and I'm waiting for my ride to the airport. My temporary work space has been cleaned and put back in order. The birds are quiet, the kids are tucked in bed, and the girls fast asleep. Going home.
