Inside the Boston Public Library’s historic reading room, rows of wooden tables and green-shaded lamps sit beneath soaring stone walls. A tall arched window dominates the scene, framed with dark gridwork that silhouettes the tower visible outside. Warm interior lamps contrast with the cool daylight beyond, creating a quiet, studious atmosphere.
This is one of my favorite corners of the BPL — a space where the architecture celebrates both knowledge and the city beyond the walls. The layered view of the reading room and the skyline gives the whole scene a timeless, almost cinematic feel.

The year I gave the book another go,

everything big happens in parenthesis –
marriage, birth, The War, poetry. Is it the full
manuscript or just the bits in the middle
that count. Is it the woman at the window,
marking the hours, from cover to cover –
or these few lines: that as she eased out from
the bank and into the water the brackets
of it opened and closed about her.

It is the largest and most populous city in the metropolitan area of Gush Dan, home to 3.2 million people as of 2008.
A most beautiful, lovely, metropolis, thousands trek to this city and find everything needed to live a metropolitan life~style...second to none!
It feels good to be home however, now the work begins...unpacking 6 suitcases, all the collected mail, income tax preparation, ugh! Not going to be much time for Flickr for a while but perhaps when I need a break now and then I'll check in.
