looks like everybody is at home tonight.
• As of the latest numbers released today, there have been 24,422 reported cases of COVID-19 in B.C.; 6,861 of those are active.
*There have been 762 new cases and 10 deaths since Tuesday.
• 320 people have died in B.C., with 209 in hospital, 58 of whom are in intensive care. 16,914 confirmed cases have recovered.
• 9,871 people are under active public health monitoring as a result of identified exposure to known cases.
• 1,005,759 British Columbians have been tested for COVID-19, including 11,145 in the past 24 hours.

Since jet drivers constantly wow the internet with their in-flight long exposures, I think it is time for us turboprop guys to also get in on the action! Despite a ceiling of only 25,000 ft - still in the "dirty" and hazy layers of the atmosphere - and ample vibrations at a myriad of amplitudes and frequencies, a little experimentation can occasionally produce a usable result...
(apart from the dirty windscreen, a couple of distortions and the odd reflection from our avionics)

Doing the same dawn flight for several days in a row may sound like the aviation equivalent of Groundhog Day - but when the views are this fine, you can't really complain (all that much), can you?

A 24 hour strike at major Australian airports coincided perfectly with my planned departure from Sydney today, on a pre-Christmas escape. I don't understand the hows and whys, but somehow my flight survived - and when I took this I was over the Northern Territory celebrating my good fortune.
