This country doctor's offfice was formerly the office of country Doctor William Ehrhardt,

originally located at FM 1960 and Kuykendahl. The Doctor's office includes an assortment

of early medications, equipment and surgical instruments.

It is located at the Tomball Museum Center in Tomball, TX. The museum association came into being in the late 1960s. The museum center began with the gift of the Griffin house built by Eugene Pillot in 1860. Gradually more buildings were acquired. The museum complex includes : historic church (Trinity Evangelical Church), 1900 doctor's office, 1869 German immigrant farm house with outbuildings, barn, log house and corn crib, and one-room schoolhouse. Now there is a collection of nine historic buildings (dates 1857-ca.1920), most from North Harris County area.

The view from the car window this evening while waiting for the Round Table Santa to come round. I was asked by the son of Santa (;-)) if I would take a photo of Santa and Mrs Claus as this is to be his last year doing it. It is cold and tiring work for the elderly gentleman who plays Santa, but you can tell he loves doing it. And he and Mrs Claus were ever so obliging when I asked if I might take their photo in the sleigh :D

I see a snowflake...too bad I did'nt see Jesus...could sell on Ebay.

People liked to play games on the large median on our street. The previous night, some drunk kids were playing Cornhole. A cop bicycled by, and one of the kids said, "Hey, cop." Then the cop stopped and told them to pack it up, because they were drinking out there and had a cooler. They begged to be able to finish the game, but no go. Maybe if they had ignored the cop, they would have been able to finish their game, but since they engaged the cop, the cop just wanted to feel important.

ready to depart on a service to the jewery wall roman monument is metro-scania metropolitan LCT 301 GJF301N,new in 1975.the metropolitan was the double-deck successor to the single-deck metro-scania design & along with volvo, part of a swedish invasion in the 1970's of the highly traditional british truck & bus industries from which it never really recovered.whilst bringing such refinements as turbocharging, rapid acceleration & ride comfort from air suspension, they were also noted for their thirst & problems with corrosion,a blight also of later MCW designs .the design similarities to the later metrobus are obvious to see, including the distinctive asymmetrical windowscreen. she is a fine example of the breed & a very welcome sight on the rally circuit along with her sister single-deck ARY225K.i can remember coming to leicester in the early 80's & thinking it a different planet seeing such exotica after my regular staple of wmpte fleetlines!!!

Looking across Ottawa Street in downtown Joliet towards a parking deck which solved parking problems decades ago while destroying a couple of beautiful old buildings in the process. The Hotel Plaza (or do you say Plaza Hotel?) building is seen on the left.

Every summer dozens of children fall from open windows, and some of those children die. In the paper yesterday morning there was news of two young children in the Seattle area who fell from windows on Wednesday. In one case the mother was just two feet away, lunged to grab her son as he pressed against the windowscreen, but could not catch him before he broke through and fell. He died. I can't imagine the pain that mother is going through, and the regret she will feel for the rest of her life.

Although they are ugly and not seen in any nursery decor catalogs, pressure-mounted safety gates can be a real lifesaver when installed over windows. The gates cost around $20.00 and should be installed so that they are very tightly pressed against the inner frame of the window. If you do not have window wells in which you can install a gate, then bolt a gate to the wall around the window.

Unsightly, yes. But not as ugly as a child's deadly fall.

Even though my kids are older now, I still keep the gates over their windows. Why? Because they have younger friends over to play. Because kids jump and wrestle. Because accidents happen in an instant.

So for the safety of the children we love, let's start a new design trend: gated windows.

I've found that sculpting clay across a flat surface is tricky, since the clay likes to slide off in big chunks. To keep things in place, I glue down chunks of windowscreen mesh which acts as a sort of base and locks the clay into place.

Happy Pi Day!

It rained today. And it wasn't just the regular fall/winter rain, but it was a bit spring/summer stormish. The season's going to change soon. I can't wait!
