1st February 2020:
For the last couple of months Graham and I have been sharing my laptop, which wasn't easy as I'm not good at sharing mine!!
So what did he do (well what did I do for him), but ordered himself a new one from The "A" people.
There's something very wrong here, he has a brand new one (it arrived this morning) and it's Windows 10 with one year free use of Microsoft Office included in the sale offer.
I managed to get it started, with a lot of difficulty and rude words, but at the present time he's using Edge as his browser, as I haven't worked out how to download Firefox, which he'd prefer.
I might get there in the end and then in the long and distant future have a Windows 10 too. I will add that he was overdue for a new one, having been on a 10 year old laptop with Vista!
I blanked out the background as it wasn't pretty!
February Overview – February joined the calendar with January around 700 B.C. It derives its name from the Latin februo, which means “purification rites.”
During the ancient Roman festival Lupercalia, thongs made from goatskin were used in purification rituals, which took place during the month, earning it the name februarius.
When February was first added to the calendar along with January in 700 BC by Numa Pompilius, it became the last month of the year.
Pompilius tacked on these two months to line up with the lunar cycle. However, Romans believed odd numbers to be lucky. Since February ended up being the unlucky one, they placed it at the end and shortened it so the bad luck wouldn’t last long. February remained there for nearly 200 hundred years. Then, both January and February moved to the beginning of the year.
Julius Caesar attempted to align the calendar with the solar season creating the Julian calendar. February, already a short month, gained a few days bringing it to 28. Then every four years, a leap day was added.
Under the current Gregorian calendar, the leap year functions differently. Leap years are divisible by four, with one exception. Centennial years must be divisible by 400.
February is unique in other ways, too. Because it usually has 28 days, once every 6 years, it’s the only month to have 4 full 7 day weeks. In the years that aren’t leap years (otherwise known as common years), February and March start on the same day of the week.
February Culture Overview
The month has some fun events. Everyone loves to talk about Ground Hog Day, Valentine’s Day, and the Super Bowl in February. However, the big news in February is that pitchers and catchers report kicking off spring training for a new baseball season. What’s a truer sign of spring?
Black History Month takes place during February because Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass were both born during the month.
One of the earliest flowers to bloom in spring is the primrose. It is also the flower of February.
If you are born in February, you are either an Aquarius or a Pisces. Your birthstone is the pretty purple quartz called amethyst.
Throughout February, we enjoy chowing down on homemade soups, grilled cheese sandwiches, chili, stuffed peppers, and cherry pie. This is especially true in the Northern Hemisphere, where the winters get a little more than brisk. In the Southern Hemisphere, summer is peaking.
Just for fun : It's National Serpent Day.

It was 2 o'clock in the afternoon in September of 2014, as I attended South Meriden's First Annual Car Show. On this Sunday, I was lucky enough to have nice weather and bright sunshine, to get some really good images of these Classic Cars. I love shooting car shows, because the owners and spectators are so friendly and are willing to strike up a conversation about the car that they brought to the event. This Mustang looks to be a 71-72 model. Maybe a Mach-1, or Boss, looking at the hood. But I love these old cars cause I've driven so many of them when I was younger and in High School. They were much more fun to drive than any of today's offerings, and had tons of power to them.

This is the tail end of a 1974 Pontiac LeMans that I saw on Thorpe Ave. while driving to do some errands. I'm glad I had my camera with me, cause you don't see classics like these every day. So, I got out of my car, and took a bunch of photos of this old, rusty, car. My '74 Riv was in similar condition, before I got rid of her. I have a soft spot for these early 70s Classics.

Hybrid printing system:
A digital negative image appeared on a Duobond 6 inch 2k monochrome LCD (no backlight itself, originally used for a 3D printer), herein called "virtual negative", was successfully formed on cyanotype (or Van Dyke) photographic paper using an analog photographic enlarger (light source: 395 nm UV SMD). This virtual negative method differs in this respect from previous digital negatives on OHP film (contact printing) and analog negatives as attempted by group: www.flickr.com/groups/cyanotype_wenlarger/).
Image signal is output to the LCD via HDMI from a mini-PC (OS: Windows 10) with a built-in graphics board capable of up to 4K video output.

On a very sunny January Day on the 9th of January 2016, I ended up taking lots of photos of this old heap. I'm sure she was nice in her day. I even know the owner, because we both drove classic cars around town, here in Meriden, CT. I had my '74 Riviera GS, and he had his Lemans from Pontiac. So, occasionally we would bump into each other and have a chat about our old cars, which were both running great, but the both of them werre showing sihns of age. Well we had a lot of fun, while it lasted, and before it became too expensive to keep them on the road.

i LOVE the color scheme on this car from the early 70s. Its a black stripe and a creamy yellow body, And it blends nicely with the black vinyl roof. Those three windows in the back look pretty cool, but I would much prefer a roll down rear window in this coupe.

A beautiful 1941 Cadillac Fleetwood that I was in Wallingford, up in Ashler Village. I was looking around this lovely part of Masonicare, wondiering how much it would cost to have my Dad move there. From what I hear, it's awfly expensive. But, as I was driving through, I couldn't help but notice this Classic Cadillac. I've only seen a few that were this old. This one looks to be in fine shape. It also looks like it had been driven recently, which is awesome. I'm not a fan of trailer queens, that never see the street. If you osn a car as nice as this one is, you might as well get some enjoyment out of it. I'm not sure, but this model may have a 12 cylinder engine under the hood, or an awfly big 8. The car was very impressive, is all I can say.
