cwd1661 ~ Window Light Portrait Take a portrait where the primary light source is natural light coming in through a window. Whether or not the window itself is in the frame is up to you.

 

Shot with just the available light. The main source being a large window to camera left.

 

I love window light. However, here I see that I have lost the top of his head. I needed some type of accent light for his hair.

Pinto is a half Pomeranian/ Chihuahua and he always uses his fetch toy as a pillow.

Window light; who in their right mind does not like this kind of light?

 

I am in love with window light. For one reason, I have no flash gear. Second of all, window light is beautiful.

 

This image was lit with mainly a large window to camera right. Located in the Kokomo Public Library, we got a few strange looks. I just told them that we were borrowing their light.

Theme: Window Light

Another shoot with Courtney. This image was captured with nothing but the available light. A large window was behind the camera position and somewhat to the left.

 

What may have helped was that I obtained a custom white balance prior to shooting. I have never done that before.

I took this in and old warehouse. I'm pretty sure the windows haven't been cleaned since the 1930s, thus they act like big diffusers.

 

This is what it looks like when you put a model near them.
