Gerrie would like you to meet his new friend. The dog's name is Pound. I wonder if you get the joke here.
Happy Teddy Bear Tuesday
The is a bear at my favourite window. He is being very quiet and still.
Sitting in the chair, not that care.
happy Teddy Bear Tuesday
There is always that one person that does not say a thing, but you know they know everything that is going on.
I liked the window light in this image.
Happy Window light Wednesday
No flowers for my vases just a few yard sale treasures. Worked with the window light this morning and had fun with the processing. Have a beautiful Sunday, it is a state holiday here in Utah.
Sunlight on tulips and bulbs during happier times. At least during less worrisome times.
Try to stay healthy!
There are days when you feel lonely. That is the day you would like your friends to be around. Some days you have friends and some days you do not.
Just sit and wait. Hope and pray without dismay.
Happy Teddy Bear Tuesday
I've posted a color version of this image. I think the design, light, and fabulous brickwork work in that version and this one. There may be as many as 25 million bricks in the fort. Enlarging will give you a better idea of the wonderful skills of the masons who built this structure. Ironically, as solid as it looks, the fort was taken in a matter of hours when the Union army arrived. They had rifled cannons; the Confederates didn't.

A crazy world I live in. Another one of my little trinkets for my amusement. I think I should have a job in a toy store.
Happy Window Wednesday
I wanted to make a classic portrait of this young woman. Her face and hands were the elements that most attracted me and I worked to emphasize them. So, I placed the model near the window so that she could be lit by natural light. Her clothes were not relevant in this kind of portraiture, so I chose a black dress and a hat with a rose that might pop-up on this dark composition.
Compositionally Challenged Week 48 - Indoor Lighting
I used the light from a north facing bay window and set the EV to -1 to temper the glare on the table. ISO 800 allowed me to hold the camera and not use the tripod. : )
CC November Most Versatile - Seed pods, nuts, acorns (choose one or all)
The squirrels ate all the acorns, so I'm left with nuts. ; )
Or the study of musical instruments and lighting and apertures.
Obviously, I've started with what I'm most familiar: shallow depth of field and diffused window light.
Studying a book on the science (and magic!) of photographic lighting— for as long as it takes. Somehow I missed physics courses on light.
Thanks for looking.
Little muscari in a pot on my window and snow on my deck

Made of Turkish cotton and made in Turkey. Someone has a graceful way of wrapping a set of cotton kitchen towels.
Thanks for looking. No need to comment. I just liked the lovely way someone folded these towels.
I've been in home hospice since mid-May. 99% of the time I'm in (or just outside) the house. I've wanted to take this picture for a long time. Yesterday was the day! Seeing the breeze from the open window move the curtains, and the play of light and shadow on the curtains as the sun goes behind clouds and then re-emerges, gives me unreasonable bliss. This photo was going to be about the Light and Spirit that's behind, and moving, all things. But it had a mind of its own and turned into a playful high-tone romp in the digital paintbox. :-)
