I was feeling a bit rough yesterday..... it was also raining...this kept me occupied for a while!

Farm outside Rockyford.

Behold the noise! Someone's been playing with the laser confetti again.

And yes I am still in my pyjamas and so about to be late for a hill because I was told it was an hour earlier than it was (who knew Scotland isn't in a different timezone?).

Fragments of a C16 windowframe from the Orti Farnesiani, now lying in the long grass on the Palatine hill.

I kept hearing a fast knock. Went out into the kitchen to find these little guys hanging onto the screen and pecking the window frame for quite awhile. I went outside later to check- they didn't do any damage to the windowframe. (not wood)

This window came from a friend's house in Lynchburg TN, 100+ years old. Handcrafted shadow box paneled with tin. The flag int he center was the flag flying at my Dad's house when he passed away.

I wanted to shoot the view out of the window but the window frame came out too dark, so I took this shot thinking that I might be able to use HDR. I liked very much the overexposed view that I decided to keep this photo instead, and threw away the 1st one where I had exposed for the view.

Taken around the Art Department in college.

Vollenda doesn't mind waking up early when there's a beautiful dawn. But, the sunrise will wait for no photographer! No matter how tired you are, if you want the photo, you have to push through. Vollenda rushed to get her gear out and started snapping pictures dressed in her pajamas before she even had her first cup of coffee. That's dedication!

This could be the best opportunity for Photo of the Day today, so the Camera seized it. That deserves some hashtags! #earlyriser #dawn #earlybird #sunrise #carpediem #dedication #throughmywindow #photographerslife #capture #moment #hdr #hashtag

The Sky is the Limit

....Blowing around in the wind while I queued outside the post office this afternoon. Had another busy work day - joined the senior management team meeting this morning, then carried on stuffing envelopes until lunchtime. Then an annoying trip to the post office after lunch - a really long queue outside, which was fine, and not unexpected, but once I got inside I was boiling hot, someone cut in front of me in the queue and then it turned out I couldn't send two of my three parcels from there (I'd picked the Tracked 48 option online, and apparently they have to be sent from the delivery office next door - which had closed an hour before). Grrr!

Back home to an extremely busy afternoon/evening - finally managed to stop work shortly before 7pm.

Poor Tim was not feeling well today - since yesterday, in fact. He called in sick and spent the day on the sofa. As ever, we're puzzled as to how he could have caught anything from anywhere.

This humble carriage house is probably worth more than a million dollars.

Thankfully the snow didn't affect the journey, the hotel let us check in early and I made a damned good choice. The entire place initiated a wow from entering through the massive front door, the impressive reception with an upstairs landing and the sheer plushness of the room.

Had a relaxing afternoon having a massage, spending far too long in the jacuzzi, pool and not so long in the sauna a steam room.

Dinner was superb, as was the entire day.
