This picture is part of the Photography for Change Project in Exeter, which was 10-week participatory photography programme that enabled participants to create their own photo-story or photographic theme and build a portfolio of images that reflect the positive aspects of their lives.
This project used photography as a means of engagement and empowerment and was managed by Meridian Raw CIC and part funded by the Big Lottery Fund
The Lady Chapel at Glastonbury abbey is certainly impressive. They really knew how to build them back in the day!
One of the things that I liked most about Montsalvat was the fact that it is currently a working artists' community. You're free to wander through the grounds, however looking through the windows you get glimpses of hidden everyday life- a vase, a pile pf papers, dishes stacked to dry.
Looking out through the side windows. You can see where the beams supporting the second-story floorboards once ran.
THE RED ROOM by MATISSE
First he paints the room
Green, all green
Vivid, youthful green;
Then he looks at the
Windowframed garden
And it is
Green, all green
Lush, vibrant green;
And now the pain
Such as comes from
Creating a thing
That overpowers
And must be tamed
To gain a harmony
Of another strain;
So he paints the room again
Knowing that
The window must remain;
But look around the edges:
That unconscious margin, yet
Green, all green
Brooding, reminiscent green.

The wooden frame has three main parts: the sill, or horizontal strip along the bottom of the frame; the jamb, the vertical sides of the frame; and the head, the top horizontal strip on the wooden frame. The sash also has several components.Stiles are the vertical sections of the sash.A window frame is the combination of the head, jambs and sill that forms a precise opening in which a window sash fits. So if you look at our handy diagram, the frame is the outer boarder of the window
Its a real mess in there.
