I did not notice it when I took the image.. but when I started to develop it, a face, a neck, and a shoulder seemed to somehow appear within the cotton or linen cloth in the window; I left the final edit, off angle a bit, as for me it seemed somehow give the figure more weight.
The lichen in an old quarry windowframe. Behind are shards of 'old' glass in the wooden flame which seem to have been discoloured by the lichens
we didn’t say anything. we just watched. his steps seemed slower than usual, or maybe time stretched in the silence. the glass was cold against the boy’s fingertips, but he didn’t pull away. we measured distance not in meters, but in memory — the way he stood straighter out there, the way our shadows grew longer inside. there’s no drama in a moment like this, just the echo of what’s unsaid. just a window framing everything you didn’t get the chance to say.

I hope this passes the test for window on Window Wednesday, it is a window frame and a mirror does give the view looking at the window.
I shoot in the big bay window that faces south and catches the morning sunshine, but I don't often photograph the actual windows at all! But looking at some of the beautiful window shots on Flickr, especially with reflections in the glass, I've started to collect together the occasional shots that caught my eye, and to add new ones. So I stalk round the house looking for interesting images ... ;o)
This one was taken last year when the barley was golden across the howe on the far hillside.
Happy Window Wednesdays ;o)
My Windows and Walls set: Here
I had fun watching her playing with her kitchen set while her parents looked on with obvious delight. Yes, I needed help getting out:-)
Enjoy your Saturday evening.

While at Edwards Gardens in Scarborough On. I came upon this concrete window. Well opportunity knocks at every corner, so keeping in mind of a window frame, I photographed these flowers in the concrete frame. I liked the way it turned out.

The theme for "Looking Close on Friday" for the 18th of August is "soap foam". Even before the advent of the Coronavirus pandemic, I was always a fastidious handwasher: something drilled into my daily routine by my grandparents when I was child. Therefore, to whip up some delicate foam from my current bar of lily-of-the-valley hand soap was a pleasure to do for the sake of the theme! I hope you like my choice for this week’s theme, and that it makes you smile.

The wall was a pale lemon yellow (a popular color in Europe) with weathered chipping and windows with bright reflections or deeply shaded. The pear tree dark green, the bench where paint remind was a jade green.
Happy Window and Wall Wednesday to the stalkers of those and happy mid week to the rest of you.
Bang Phlat District in Bangkok, Thailand, by the Chao Phraya river, is known for its riverside temples like Wat Awut Wikasitaram, a centuries-old royal monastery adorned with golden nāgas guarding the ornate entrance. There's a bustling food market on the street around nearby Wat Panu Rangsi, while ChangChui Creative Park has trendy cafes among its contemporary art installations and a monthly food and craft fair. The green Rama VIII Park has jogging trails and a playground.
I did warn you a a while back that I would show quite a few sunrise pictures from Salalah, Oman. On this day, January 1st, it seems like a good time to add another one.
Of all of my travel memories from last year, one of my favorites was watching the sunrise over the Arabian Sea from my balcony. Never have I had such a beautiful view from a hotel and no where have I been able to hear the fish jumping out of the water and see birds sleeping on buoys and see the sun's rays skip over the silky smooth stillness of the sea.
Thank you for all of the support last year and all of the views and faves. I look forward to seeing all of your new great images in 2015. I am headed back to Africa in March to Botswana and the Seychelles, a trip I have been hoping to make for quite a few years.
