ower windmill originally a timber framed smock windmill built 1726 raised in 1860 and much rebuilt following a storm in 1889. Restored 1975 and now a working mill. Brick, tarred. Four storeys with capping rebuilt in metal sheeting but in original ogee shape. Renewed fantail and two sails. Most of the interior is of the C19, but there is some timber reused from the 1726 mill including part of the main shaft. EH Listing
An old barn in rural north central Illinois, provides cover for an old windmill tower, now missing the head and blades. In the background looms a huge wind generator, that is part of a large "wind farm" in that area.

This windmill is in working order still grinding flour mainly for the tourists, it is open to the public. It is in the village of Denver, Norfolk, England
They are huge. I was told each blade was delivered as an extra long Simi-truck load.
On a recent trip, we passed a convoy of semi-trucks, each loaded with one colossal segment of the tower. I think we saw at least 8 trucks, (no blades in the group). The photos are only a few inches tall, but believe me, these mills are giant.
The Sint Janshuismolen windmill is one of Bruges four windmills located on the banks of the outer canal ring on the east side of the town. It is one of two windmills in Bruges open to the public (the other can be spotted in the distance).
This is the only one of the four mills that has always been on this place. It was commissioned by the bakers of Bruges and constructed on this place in 1770. It stands on the place where there used to be another mill of the Saint-John's hospital (which was blown down in 1744). It is a wooden standardmill on four brick dice and it is accessible for the public and arranged as a museum.
Bruges has a rich history of mills. When the second walls were erected around the town (end of 13th century); spots were foreseen where mills were built. Maps of the 16th century show that there were no less than 23 windmills on the townwalls. Between the Kruispoort and the Dampoort, where the remaining mills are nowadays, there were eight.
