Summer on the wind

More wind chime love...

I'm still searching for my turqouise pics so here's one I took this summer. Close up of my wind chime.

found this silverware hanging as a windchime at the local art fest.

Drape yourself in cloud-soft comfort with this big, thick, ultra-soft beach towel! Eerily eye-catching skull-and-flame graphic is definitely not for the faint of heart.

Wind chime souvenir a Japanese man sent me as a thank you for doing him a favor. So Japanese.

We have a mirror wind chime/mobile hanging on our front porch. The glass bits are really tiny so it was kind of blind faith on what would turn out. Too bad it's just my nose mostly!

My grandma Frankie gave me this beautiful ceramic angel one Christmas a while back. She liked giving gifts that were made by local artists in Tennessee, so I bet this was. I was (and still am) too cool to wear this angel as the long necklace it was intended to be (it came on a long nylon cord). A number of years back, though, a friend of mine held a craft party at her condo, where we made wind chimes, using beads, wire, and other sentimental items, so I decided to put this pretty angel to good use. It hangs in my apartment by the front window, but it isn't much of a wind chime. More like a mobile. At any rate, I'm glad to have it as a memento of my grandmothers love and faith.

Our Daily Topic: Rust

It's a tough life in the North, especially if you're made of iron and you live outdoors 24/7. Still sounds pretty when the breeze blows, though.

To get to my front door, people have to walk under this windchime. Surprisingly, it doesn't keep the religious door-knockers away. The 85 pound German Shepherd who greets their knock... well, that's another story.

my dad had a bunch of pens and pencils on his work bench in the basement. most were sharpened without a pencil sharpener. i recently saw an image of vintage pencils made into a wind chime. though i dont think these would make enough noise to call them a wind chime, i thought it would be an interesting project for me and the brood.

I've never liked a wind chime before, but this gentle one feels right for me.

Taken with a Zenit TTL. Unknown film, it had expired around 2002.

Grand, oh boy are they! Thee monsters feature eight 4mm Swarovski crystals wire wrapped with small copper spheres and dangle from coordinating chain that is linked to each of the petal drops of a large copper umbrella. From the center of the wind chime dangles an 8mm fuchsia Swarovski crystal, clear crystal rondelle in a copper setting, small copper 4 leaf cap and finally a 4mm Swarovski blue-green crystal. The windchime is topped off with an artisan made purple boro bead and the same 4 leaf cap and blue green crystal that dangles from the center drop. Wind chimes dangle from copper lever backs.

Earrings measure 2 3/8 total length and just over ½ inch wide at the widest point.

Did not go to work today due to the snow and ice. Felt guilty about that all day. Walked to my parents' house early morning, taking random shots of my snowy hometown. This wind chime caught my ear, then my eye.

A gift from me for Mom, found at one of those cool shops in Omaha's Old Market.

My parents have windchimes made of flattened silverware. I kind of like them ...

I have photographed this little thing lots of times, but I think I like the colors in this shot best.
