This wind arch is on the lee side of a mountain range. They sometimes form when the wind is strong. The wind will bounce off the mountain and goes straight over the valley.

A large wind scorpion from the Big Bend region of west Texas. A number of myths exist about these animals, some going back centuries. A more modern myth talks about how they can reach dinner plate size, stemming from a series of photos that circulated around the internet. Much as with what happens with reported "giant rattlesnake" photos, these images are simply optical illusions (and poor ones at that) based on trick photography.
