initially i waited for the wing to rotate a bit more, so i can get a better capture, however, after realizing that the wings did not move, the i took whatever i can catch that moment... it's moving bus, so decision should be made very quick or otherwise you miss this turbine...

These were dotted over many a hill across Wyoming. As far as I can tell, they're some kind of wind break. A lot of snow builds up behind them; perhaps they're more about stopping wind erosion in summer though?

Thurso beach covered in cappuccino spume at low tide early this afternoon, the winds picked up at about 6.00 pm yesteday, gusting to over 70 mph, this continued all night with gusts over 60 mph, daylight has brought continuing winds slowly coming down to gusts between 40 and 50 mph.
All the Orkney ferries have cancelled with tomorrow mornings not yet confirmed.
