The quick action lever wind was introduced on the old Standard and became a key feature on all subsequent models. Once the number 1 is visible in the red window on the base of the camera, push the button to the above right of the frame counter to reset it to 1. Once you have taken a shot, simply wind the lever until it stops to get to the next exposure. Be aware that there is no interlock between this and the shutter. You can wind on an unexposed frame or shoot unlimited shots on the same frame. Keep a strict regime of winding on after you have taken a picture and you will be fine!

Wind Turbine

St-Rémi, Qc

Before installation. Just outside Beijing, China.

Positioned 300 metres (985 feet) above sea level and 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) outside Glasgow, Scotland’s largest city, the wind farm has over half a million people living within a 30 km radius. This makes Whitelee one of the first large-scale wind farms to be developed close to a centre of population. [5] In May 2009, Whitelee was officially opened to the public by Alex Salmond MSP, First Minister for Scotland. [6] However, Whitelee was generating power long before this with the first phase of the wind farm supplying power to the electricity grid in January 2008.

In May 2009, the Scottish Government granted permission for an extension to the wind farm that will produce up to a further 130 megawatts of power,[7] which would increase the total generating capacity of Whitelee to 452 MW.[8] There is also the potential to increase the generating capacity once again by 140 megawatts. This would give Whitelee the potential to generate almost 600 megawatts of renewable energy.[8]

On 19 March 2010 a blade snapped off a turbine, resulting in temporary suspension of operations until safety checks were completed. Following the accident Keith Anderson, managing director of ScottishPower Renewables, said: "This type of incident is exceptionally rare and highly unusual

Wind surfing on Lyall Bay, Wellington, New Zealand. It had been days of stormy weather and then the clouds cleared but the wind kept up. The blue skies and fierce winds with roiling waves were too much to resist for these wind surfers - in spite of the mid winter freezing temperatures of the sea - taken on the shortest day of the year, Winter, July 2009

Richardson County Nebraska

On the evening of June 23rd, 2014 a storm literally formed right in front of me during the late evening hours. The clouds and setting sun provided some stunning color combinations! Here we see the tops of the storm clouds starting to become rounded off by strong winds.

On Interstate 65 in White County, Indiana. There are a bunch of wind turbines between the county's southern border and the exit for US 231 about 10 miles northwest.

On January 25th we were driving west on I-90 between Mitchell and Chamberlain South Dakota when the winds started gusting and blowing rolling clouds of dirt off the fields along the interstate.

Performed at the 1901 Gallery and Theatre

Harthill, South Yorkshire

Wind pumps like the one pictured here were once a common sight in the rural landscape and their function was to pump water from a well to serve the needs of a farm.

This one, off Harthill Field Road (near the junction with Serlby Lane and Common Road), is one of three in the area, but is the only one still wholly intact. A second one stands close by the modern-day wind turbines in the middle of Loscar Common, but only the main tower remains, whilst a third at Loscar Farm, close to the junction of Harthill Field Road and Packman Lane, though largely intact, has most of its blades missing.

Towing a turbine base out to sea

Phase I

In the first phase 6 MW, five German-made gearless VENSYS 62 wind turbines each capable of producing 1.2 MW were installed/connected with 11 KV HESCO network and started generation in April 2009.[3]

Phase II

In the second phase, 28 more wind turbines of 1.8 MW capacity each, supplied by Vestas of Denmark were installed to produce a total of 50.4 MW electricity.[3] This increased the capacity of the project to 56.4 MW. The project was completed in March 2013.[1]

In July 2013, Zorlu Enerji announced that its 56.4 MW Jhimpir wind power plant in Pakistan had started to sell power to the Pakistani national power distribution company after having passed all the required tests.[4]

Currently the privately owned Turkish wind farm is selling the produced electricity to Pakistan at a rate of 12.1057 US cents per kilowatt hour of electricity.[3]

Currently, 45 wind power projects of around 3200 MW capacity are under process in Pakistan.[5]
