Wind Cave was regarded as sacred by the American Indian and protected as a national park in 1903. It does create wind as the air inside the cave adjusts to the atmospheric changes outside the cave, thus the name.
This is looking from our front porch toward the neighbors. We had a 150' tree come down in the wind, take out another 150' tree, both smashed the shed, took out the fence, then crossed the back corner of the neighbor's property to the middle and back over the creek that runs behind us both.
More from Antelope Canyon. Quite appropriate this as its mainly the wind that is responsible for scouring a path through the canyon and leaving this texture rich surface.

A pronghorn walking on the prairie of the Wind Cave National Park, South Dakota. Although resembling the African antelope, and often called "antelope" in old Western songs and literature, the pronghorn is only a distant relative, and in the old world, actually more closely related to the giraffe.

VERY breezy the day I took this. We've had rain since, thank God.
This is taken near the highest point around Collinsville. You can't really see much of the town from there, but you can get the feeling that you're out in the country, since there's no buildings around and no power lines.
