There's something I really love about wind, which is funny because I used to hate it entirely.
Growing up in a valley in Alaska, we had very aggressive gusts of winter wind, and it would keep me up at night thinking our house would blow over.
Then I grew up and started to see wind as something like a testament to how small and weak I am. Wind is so innately strong and huge and powerful, and somehow I started to see that as a good thing.
Now, wind reminds me of how little control I can attain over my own life as well as all circumstances, which is more freeing than scary. Gotta love wind.

In the Algarve we have plenty of wind mills to produce energy out of wind. When I went for a ride yesterday at dusk I saw these and I had to shoot them.

Windsurfing is a surface water sport that combines elements of surfing and sailing. It consists of a board usually 2 to 3 metres long, with a volume of about 60 to 250 liters, powered by wind on a sail. The rig is connected to the board by a free-rotating universal joint and consists of a mast, 2-sided boom and sail. The sail area generally ranges from 2.5 m to 12 m depending on the conditions, the skill of the sailor and the type of windsurfing being undertaken.
I found the wind-bell under the flowerpot in which the ground cherry was planted.
The ground cherry market is opened soon here.
This market is one of the Japanese summer features.

- www.kevin-palmer.com - It was calm at first, but the wind started picking up before sunset, sending the wind chill below zero.
I took some pictures of a friend yesterday! She let me use this cool bathtub in her apartment for a shoot a few weeks ago (which I haven't uploaded online yet!), so I gave her a shoot.
I don't think I've laughed so much at a photoshoot in my life, I'm suuuch a sucker for one-liners!

I love the sound of the wind lashing
Looking for its lovers, ceaselessly
Driving schooners of cloud, remorselessly
Across stratospheric, swollen oceans
The incognito jet-streams and air-currents
That gypsy breath cooling earth's crust
And sucking away its life-dust with
Inhalations of hemispheric lungs
Pneumatically percussing bass drum-clouds
The snare-drum rattle of pine needles on cones
The moaning of beech trees in ecstatic torture
Unseen hands that rock the cradles
Above the swaying heads of grain
And cleaved armies of meadow grass
The sight of yielding birds flung around
Giving themselves to its wild will
Burlesque leaves showing underwear
Slapping each other without insult
The lake's surface meringued with agitation
Even river currents checked like a crowd
Most of all its cleansing, stripping away
To a fresh start, a new day to wash
The dirty neck of sloth and indolence
Spinning a windmill heart up to speed

Storm
The roaring wind tests its strength
On muscular oak and beech
Leaves rattle like pebbles on a stormy shore
Greyhound clouds chase yesterday down
Shot-blasting hail, has targets aplenty
Small birds scatter for shelter
Starting at reversing umbrellas
Flying litter and rolling dustbins
This is alternative energy
