"A poem that can make even readers with no time for poetry stop dead in their tracks. It is repulsive and fascinating, vicious and vivacious, uncompromising, unashamed, and unremittingly powerful. An amazing tour-de-force" (Louis Untermeyer).
"It's the book that made me want to be a writer" (William S. Burroughs).
Only Spiegelman could have done justice to it, and his visual interpretation is a "must-have" edition of the work. This title has been out-of-print as a hardcover for a very long time even though it went into multiple subsequent printings and is now highly collectible.
This is one of very few copies of the First Edition still available online and is in especially fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright, a beauty. A rare copy. One of the finest American poets interpreted by one of the greatest graphic artists of the 20th century. A fine collectible copy.
Best known for his Pulitzer Prize-winning graphic novel memoir, MAUS, which tells his Polish-Jewish parents' Holocaust survival story, Art Spiegelman has covered a wide range of topics. His books have found their way into many formats--from New Yorker cover illustrations to Garbage Pail kid cards to underground strips like "Young Lust." A prodigious talent with an appropriately diverse and poignantly humorous style.

While perusing Daiso, the Japanese equivalent of a 99 cent store, I stumbled across this "Inflatable Wild Swan". A quick internet search revealed multiple pictures of this, but no one took a picture of the actual product. The package is awesome!
To state the obvious, this is a an inflatable swan that you are supposed to use as a joke penis. Most novelty products try and make the person playing the joke look smart or cool, but not the inflatable wild swan! This product advertises that is for the use of creepy guys with mustaches. Note that this guy is wearing long underwear, missing a tooth and has a hole in sock with his big toe sticking through.
So, $1.50 at Daiso! In the kids section by the fake samurai wigs and inflatable boobs. Because there is nothing kids enjoy more than a pervy old man pretending an inanimate object is his penis.
Check out the next pic to see the directions. They are FUNNY!
it has taken some time for me to put up new pictures. i have been out of town for a little bit and of course my camera came along. i hope that you like the picture of some of the nature that was surrounding me. have a great week!
Wild Horse Sculpture - A sculpture of 15 wild horses has crowned a barren Central Washington hillside for more than a decade, but the rusted sheets of steel still are an inspiring sight to travelers along busy Interstate 90.
The 200-foot line of life-size charging horses, the creation of David Govedare of Chewelah, Wash., captures a mystical spirit from a time when real wild horses roamed the steppes.
Titled "Grandfather Cuts Loose the Ponies," the scene symbolically re-creates the Great Spirit turning loose a herd of wild horses above the Columbia River's Wanapum Lake.
The artwork can be seen from viewpoints along I-90, about two miles east of the Vantage Bridge over the Columbia River. The eastbound off-ramp has a rough path that leads a quarter mile to the wild-horse monument. (OregonLive.com)
Wild Ginger (Asarum caudatum) has one of the most exotic-looking flower forms of any Pacific Northwest native plant. The inflorescence is easy to miss. The heart-shaped, paired leaves rise on hairy stems and often form dense mats which effectively conceal flowers whose calices (singular: calyx) terminate in long, thready extensions. This moisture lover can be found along streambanks in the lowland forest, but may also occur at higher elevations and in soil which is seasonally damp. This specimen was observed near Tahoma Creek.

There were almost too many clouds. The weather was pretty bad, it was drizzling (it did for the rest of the day), temperature was plummeting (around freezing) and thick fogs reduced visibility to a few feet.
I took my chances with the sunrise. This is the iconic scene of the Wild Goose Island with towering mountains on all sides, cowering in the vastness of St. Mary Lake.
First wild brown trout captured on the kayak .This fish was quickly returned to the clear cold waters of Scotland.. Noticed the beautiful marking of the fish .

Wild boar is a close relative of domestic pig. There are four subspecies of wild boar that are similar in size and appearance, but differ in color (which depends on the type of habitat). Native populations of wild boars can be found in Africa, Europe and Asia (Japan, Indonesia, India and the Far East). Wild boars can survive in different types of habitat: grasslands, taiga, tropical rainforests, but they prefer life in deciduous forests. Wild boars are threatened by habitat loss and by commercial hunt. Luckily, wild populations are still stable and they are not listed as endangered species.

You would be wild and angry too, if you were swimming along with your mates and a brute caught you in a net.

The wild boys are calling
On their way back from the fire
In august moon's surrender to
A dust cloud on the rise
Wild boys fallen far from glory
Reckless and so hungered
On the razors edge you trail
Because there's murder by the roadside
In a sore afraid new world
They tried to break us,
Looks like they'll try again
Wild boys never lose it
Wild boys never chose this way
Wild boys never close your eyes
Wild boys always shine
You got sirens for a welcome
There's bloodstain for your pain
And your telephone been ringing while
You're dancing in the rain
Wild boys wonder where is glory
Where is all you angels
Now the figureheads have fell
And lovers war with arrows over
Secrets they could tell
They tried to tame you
Looks like they'll try again
Wild boys never lose it
Wild boys never chose this way
Wild boys never close your eyes
Wild boys always shine
Wild Boys Duran Duran
