18dbi panel is setup as a 802.11b client for Internet. Small antenna is setup as an Access Point to redistribute WiFI throughout the parking lot. Wi-Fi used for assisting in voter registration. www.wlanparts.com. The tripod is from a Home Depot utility light stand with the lights removed.

Reflective layer, measure the radius, depth and calculate focal point (basic physics). The invent a way to get your USB WiFi adapter to look at the focal point and you will be getting a much stronger signal because is concentrated to the focal point and your adapter receiving all that.

Originally from an East Berlin fleamarket, this lovely old radio packed up as soon as it made it to London, so I gutted it, fitted it with a modern speaker attached to an AirTunes wireless access point, and now I can listen to podcasts and mp3s in the kitchen. Result.
(The dial still works if you turn the knob, by the way. Doesn't *do* anything, yet still satisfying.)
