Since the schedule change on 9. Dec - my daily commuting train between Basel and Zuerich airport as wifi - one catch - it's password protected - beta?
Does anybody knows the SBB strategy on Wifi in trains?
These square wifi antennas relay the signal from one property to the next, in a similar manner to Locust World's mesh. Cybermoor uses Cisco kit.
We were downtown playing with the wifi; it didn't work in the Atrium (near Twigs and Panda Express). Sarah got it to work in Starbucks (I could only get on the Tmobile Starbucks one that you have to pay for), but we both were able to get access -- albeit spotty -- down by the Avista building overlooking the falls.
Pretty cool stuff!

802.11b/g and 802.11a networks aboard my Virgin America flight from SFO to LAX. $9.95 was a bit steep for an hour flight, but I'd pay that for a cross country trip.
Having 110v electric on the plane was cool as well, but my laptop brick kept causing the outlet to reset... and while it is a dinosaur, it only draws 1.5 Amps. I can imagine that outlet would be a godsend for charging your cell phone in a snap.
Free Wifi in a public area in the Overgate Shopping Centre. - No need to buy a coffee if you want to catch up with your emails.
Originally from an East Berlin fleamarket, this lovely old radio packed up as soon as it made it to London, so I gutted it, fitted it with a modern speaker attached to an AirTunes wireless access point, and now I can listen to podcasts and mp3s in the kitchen. Result.
(The dial still works if you turn the knob, by the way. Doesn't *do* anything, yet still satisfying.)
