On the day I took these photographs it was raining on and off. That made for very interesting atmospheric shots. I love clouds in the sky because they convey a mood so easily.
The moment I drove up to this corner I was truck by the tree. The very tree that had obviously at some point a while ago been struck by lightning. You can see that by the damage that has been done to the top and the fact that the tree has been killed completely. The other interesting factor is the way this skeletal tree's branches have taken on the form of lightning itself. Have a closer look.
This tree makes a fitting centrepoint to the composition as the road draws us around the corner to what might be.
WHEN THEY SPOTTED HER THEY CRAWLED INTO THE WATER AND RUSHED TO CATCH HER.
BARKING LOUDLY ALL THE WAY, THEY GOT VERY CLOSE. THEN THEY TIMIDLY TURNED AROUND AND SLOWLY SWAM BACK TO SHORE.
REMINDED ME OF THE DOG FINALLY CATCHING THE CAR.

When you start to consider a trip to the Galapagos, there are three ways to see the islands and its heralded wildlife: by boat, where you sail for about a week on the same ship; by land tour, or via day trips, where you base yourself in one place and pay for a la carte experiences. Boat is my preferred way.
When I saw the fog this morning, decided to go out to shoot some photos. However, as I was driving around, the fog started fading and the rain arrived. Very wet, cloudy spring morning.
for at that point the future is still unknown and has yet to hurt us, and also for that brief moment, our poses are accepted as honest :-)

When traveling to the Hawaiian Island of Kauai, I was stunned by the number of chickens popping up everywhere. It wasn't until I returned to the mainland that I learned the history of the resident fowl.

When I looked up and saw this stunning creature feeding in soft, lovely light it felt ethereal to me. For photographers out in nature, these are the moments that live in our minds.
When opened in 1890, the Forth Rail Bridge was the longest Cantilever bridge in the world.
Officially listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it's span has only been succeeded by the Quebec Bridge in Canada, and to this day remains the second longest.
It's incredible to think that the bridge was constructed before the age of powered flight.
When I visited Mousehole, UK, I was captivated by this juxtaposition of colorful surfboards & venerable houses.

When are we going to learn to live together in peace and understanding? Violence is NO solution. We need to share our space in this world together and make room for all of us to share with respect, friendship and love!
