Europe, The Netherlands, Zuid Holland, Rotterdam, Blijdorp Zoo, Bison garden, Tractor, Maintenance crew (cut from T)
Blijdorp's Bison territory can be seperated in twoo zones. In this capture, bisons were just let out of this zone (food awaited them in the other one) to enable this crew to do some vital maintenance work. Seeing how much work is going on 'behind the scenes' was good. The shovel used: a Schäffer 3630 wheel loader (2,4 Ton, 18,5 kW).
This is number 21 and, for now, the last one of the Blijdorp Zoo album.

I'm still very much enjoying building minifig scale models and one of the reasons for that is that I get results quickly. I'm currently cranking out at least a model a week. I built this one, a Liebherr L526 wheel loader, as the load for a new truck with a stepframe trailer. The truck itself still awaits the arrival of a few missing parts, but I hope to finish it in a few days. Meanwhile, the Liebherr makes for a decent model on its own.
Had to get a shot of these before they return to the shelf. A lot of fun staging models for shots in the great outdoors!

This started as one of those 5 dollar Ertl toy loaders from Tractor Supply. It needed help, so I added hand rails, cab lights, a antenna, and weathering, just to give it some realism. Just couldn't leave alone any longer! LOL
A peat train is being loaded during an upcoming snowstorm. The worker on the right is putting out a fire. Peat has a tendency to self-ignite.
Driving Through Idaho somewhere near Grangeville. Many of these pictures show a hazy smoke in the sky from forest fires nearby.

In fact it was seized by justice few days ago, so I enjoy as much as possible before they sell it or some stupid people destroy it...
And it was the first photo trip with my new Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 HSM !

In the Village of Elmwood Park, Groot Industries works with the Department of Public Works to collect the leaves that have been placed in the street by residents. Rather than dividing the Village into zones with designated service days, crews work along the Village's Street Sweeping routes. Although it only allows the crews to collect one side of the street, it is meant to ensure that there are no cars parked in their way.
The Public Works crews use pickup trucks with a plow attachment to push the smaller piles into large piles on each street. Then, a Groot Rear Loader accompanied by either a wheel loader or backhoe collects the larger piles. After the large piles are collected, a street sweeper comes by to get whatever wasn't caught by the other equipment.
