Whale Watching - La Gomera

Grey whale I think the naturalist said. Not much came above the water to identify it properly. Except the barnacles. Still a whiff of its breath can be seen on the right of the photo. It was april and cold.

Whale Watching - La Gomera

the old 'shafts of light through the clouds' cliché, as if I would do that....

When we went whalewatching the boat we followed the coast of Fraser Island - amazing place. Miles and miles of empty beaches with lovely white sand.

Fraser Island stretches over 123 kilometres in length and 22 kilometres at its widest point. With an area of 184 000 hectares it is the largest sand island in the world.

Whalewatching

Whalewatching: lots of boats, probably over a thousand people, and three helicopters hovering overhead. At London's Battersea park on January 20th 2005.

We saw 4 of them, including a baby!

Alankuda Beach.
