Today we had a happy hour party at our office in WeWork Golden Gate with a bunch of other startups in the building. Du organized everything, came up with the idea to be a Brazilian themed party and in typical Wonolo style, teach people how to do a job (make a Caipirinha) in 5 minutes. It was amazingly popular and surprised me how many people turned out. Awesome job Du - now the two of us just need to get better shirts like everyone else.
WeWork. Hamngatan/Malmskillnadsgatan. Well, they used to work. Closed for business nearly a year ago.
Day 8 of 2015. Amy and I spent the afternoon working out of wework, a coworking space in SoMa. We're packaging a lot of the work we did together last year so that we can share it more widely with the rest of the world. I loved the giant orange clock in this shot, which matched Amy's pants and backpack.
Produced this typo mural for my friends at Wework in Colony Square, Atlanta a few weeks ago with help from my friend Efdot.

That was a headline in an article about Wework Stockholm that I read last week. It was cold inside and some of the lights had been turned off. I took this photo three days ago.

Health and sustainability are inextricably linked. Sick humans on a healthy planet are not more sustainable than healthy humans on a sick planet.
I applaud WeWork’s commitment to the environment. Climate Change is a threat to human health.
Unfortunately, becoming meat free for employees is not the most effective or science-based way to support this commitment.
At the same time that meat is not being catered by corporate events, there are copious quantities of insulinogenic and diabetogenic foods served and promoted within the premises. From a science perspective, the carbon emissions from agriculture in the United States are 10% of the total. The carbon emissions from health care in the United States are 10% of the total.
A population struggling to prevent insulin resistance (up by 41% in Washington, DC, 76% Nationally, 1.67 million people in MD/VA/DC have pre-diabetes or undiagnosed diabetes, most don’t know it) will create a most unsustainable environment for all, through increased use of pharmaceuticals and associated health care. It’s estimated that the use of $200/month of pharmaceuticals equals the offset from going completely vegan in 1 year. Same for taking one (1) transcontinental flight.
A better, more science-based approach, is to implement a sustainable food policy that incorporates health and the environment together.
