Anyone who has driven northbound on I-75 (Michigan) has seen this sign. If memory serves me correctly, it is also in someone's music video.

7 Days of Shooting –

Week #32 (w/b 14 February) Love or Loathe - This week kicks off with Valentines Day, so all you love bugs will have no problem with this week’s Theme! Hearts and roses and little kisses might be right for you but you might just loathe all that mushy lovey dovey time so how will you interpret the love thang?!

"7 Days of Shooting" "Week #32" "Love or Loathe" "Black and White Wednesday"

In the photograph from last week (Week 31), I started to think about ideas for the cover of the photo book that I make each year of the children. My dad made a few "apple boxes" for me to use in the studio so, while he was at it, I asked him if he could also make a box big enough for me to put Maisie and Jack in so that I could take a few photographs. Rather than calling the NSPCC, he obliged and this is the result.

It is obviously a composite of several photographs, twelve in all, I think. I took a few yesterday of Jack as a test (Jack-in-the-Box) and then continued today, taking some more of Jack and Maisie.

The lighting was a little more complicated than last week but still not rocket science. Two lights took the background to white. Another two in strip boxes from the rear sides added the highlights to the sides of the subjects (When they weren't in the box!). A main light with beauty dish on from upper camera left and then a large fill light from on camera axis to lift the shadows in the box that were caused by the main light.

I ended up shooting at 80mm at f/16 to give me a little more room for the kids to move around and still be in focus.

This week's theme is "light". I was going to do a light bulb above my head but then my daughter asked if she could help. The CFL bulb appeared to be the "green" thing to do!

Week 32! We’re keeping a good pace through topics, and I’m quite pleased to be keeping up with this project so well, still.

Anyhoo! This week is all about food, because last week I read that science suggests taking a picture of your food before eating it enhances the taste of it. Not conclusively proven, mind, but suggested based on similar research in this area.

The good news is that I am pretty sure the driver was standing on the side of the road filling out forms when I happened across this scene.

Week 32

August 4, 2013

Week25-Week32 at Cuc Ao Factory, Ot Cay and Lien

Theme this week: Photography Photography

Great idea to dedicate this week to the World Photography Day. I have enjoyed very much watching the other self portraits - with our cameras, of course - and the pics showing people taking photos around the world.

Answering the questions, I have a Nikon d3100 and I like it very much. I don't have a favourite subject to photograph although I think I would love to photograph things related to books, people reading, etc.

The 52 in 2016 Challenge for Week 32: Long Exposure

Had a chance to get out and enjoy a beautiful sunset this week. Even spent some time with my ND filter - creating a nice smooth lake reflection of the sunset!

And made of chocolate:-).

I had a hard time with this category because of the abstract category. How do you define abstract? Is it enough if the bokeh is abstract, or does the whole picture have to be? I had two pictures I couldn't decide between. Submitted one, then changed my mind and ended up with this one. I think it fits the abstract theme better. My second choice is in the comments.

I've been slapped with a random case of insomnia. For the past 11 days, I've been running on about 30 hours of sleep. Yeah. Bollocks. I finally gave in and took a sleeping pill last night, and it only knocked me out for a good 5 hours...

When I say this topic for Teleidoscope week 32, there was no other option. It simply had to be minifigs or Weemen as I know them.

All the images in this album are scanned from prints. My arm hurts after I type for a while and it's hurting now. But I found today that the motions involved in scanning are different and my arm didn't hurt doing that! I have lots and lots of scanning to do so I'm turning my attention to scanning for now! I'll stay with the 365D and 7DOS challenges but not much else.

I'm sorry, my Flickr friends! Thanks so much for your visits, comments, faves and continuing friendship despite my absence from your streams! Have a fine Friday and a grand weekend!

Well, my Flickr friends, I said earlier this week that I was going to the hospital! I went and was there less than 24 hours. I was told at the ER that all my labs checked out normal and that I had a urinary tract infection! They sent me home with a prescription for an antibiotic. When I got home, I found The Regency all but in lockdown! A lot of colds, flu, etc, going around, and we're being asked to stay in our apartments and order up meals from the kitchen. Never a dull moment! Anyway, I'm back in time to share this bright sunset!

52 of Twenty Eleven week #32 theme: Against the Light/Flare.

One of the pictures of incredible journey that i yesterday by the lowland. I mori of cold, but it was worth it have gone places that he did not know and the "i lost". With an incredible storm and a few x-rays passing through the clouds reflected the green grass of the fields in this area.

Pew Tor Panorama - facing north east from the edge of the Tor.

Up on the western edge of Dartmoor, just a couple of miles from Tavistock, is the place that started my love affair with the West Country, the reason I moved 250 miles and my entire life to Devon. Pew Tor is fairly unassuming as Dartmoor tors go, but off the main tourist drag and reasonably easy to climb. I LOVE this view - the photo does not remotely do this justice.

I do like the way you can see the bad weather coming in from the west, but I'll never be happy with any view from here - I'm too emotionally attached to the place to ever feel I can convey my feelings well in 2 dimensions.

From left to right you can see Cox Tor, Great Staple Tor, Great Mis Tor and North Hessary Tor (with the mast). And lots of sheeps. And no people. Bliss....

On New Year's Day 2015 around 3pm, 2 pods of Transient Orcas - the T137s and T036/T036Bs - came by the island to say hello. They were breaching in 3 groups, and there was so much going on, it was hard to focus on any group long enough to take a good shot! They came quite close to shore, playing and harassing the seabirds. - Taken from Anderson Island, WA's Riviera Marina on the east side of the island, facing Steilacoom and Ketron

took these shots while I was getting dressed for the day.

For the group Repackaged by Zero FM. Not that great but my brain has been off on holiday (even if I haven't!!!)

At least I presume so, I don't sit on this seat but the one next to it, that I am sitting on, is comfortable 😀

The Challenge Friday group has chosen Comfort as the theme for week 32.

It's orange week around here. Riya wears the new Liv doll outfit I got from Target, thanks to a tip from Iveta. Other than the bracelets, the set also comes with a purse and a pair of cool looking slippers that are unfortunately a bit large for Momokos.

Goodramgate, York. The oldest surviving row of houses in York. Built in 1316 in what was the churchyard of Holy Trinity church.

I can't recall the name of the building that I took this close-up shot of whilst in Glasgow, the other day ... it does have a feeling of religion but I do know it wasn't a church!!

With the hat and all, if you look close. With my camera, I can never get a good sun-flare like some do, but I can get some interesting effects I think.

Taken earlier this month but with a little cropping to give more emphasis to the trees!
