Kind of a nice abstract... I like the way the texture of the concrete flattens the image of the weed eater/string.

The gardener is weeding the garden as it is main garden activity to be done in rainy season. In rainy season there will be more weeds due to more rain.
This is weed that popped up in one of our vegetable beds. It has a pretty yellow-orange flower which didn't open fully today because it was such a cloudy day.
[Added Nov. 9, 2006] Someone told me that this is an Abutilon weed or Velvet Leaf, but I can't remember who mentioned this to me.

This nice little flower bunch sprouted in our driveway. It's funny how some of the nicest flowers come from weeds. We uprooted it and planted it in a pot, but it only lasted for a couple of days. Oh, well. Easy come, easy go!
The nice depth-of-field effect gives an almost 3D quality to the photo. This is all the D40's doing, in automatic "macro" mode. The camera automatically focuses on the nearest object at either center, center left. or center right. In this case, it was the buds at center right.
