I can never see a cobweb and not think of my dear friend Annie which always goes to prove to me that people may pass away but very really leave us, I like to think she is in every little jewel on this web.

Used my 50 mm lens to take this shot.

A spider web that I found alongside a trail while hiking in one of California's Redwood Forests.

I did not see the spider, so I do not know what kind of spider created the web.

Look at the water drops on his back. Wondering if spiders hate the foggy weather..

While intending to do more water drop shots, with spray bottle in hand, I saw this abandoned spider web (honestly the spider wasn't there).

This was my chance to do the spider web shot with beautiful dew drops... or so I thought...so I sprayed the spider web... only way to get the "dew" drops. I was hoping the web would hold larger drops and the sun would hit it just right to give hundreds of sunbursts... so much for that... too ambitious.

So... this “bulls’ eye” composition is the better one... showing the water drops glistening in the sun. Oh well... hope you like this.

Sorry for this long outdrawn commentary on this shot.

Went over to Matt's house for a cookout and to hang out with friends. Took a few pictures while I was there!

New grill for Christmas! There's more to it than just the wheel, I promise.

It was a misty morning, my back itched all day after I crawled around in the garden getting this shot. Then as i scratched for a final time late in the afternoon I retrieved the sheild bug that had been hitching a lift all day! I dont know who was more horrified me or him!

Strobist: SB700 hand-held behind the subject side-on to the right. Triggered with one pair RF603s.

Camera on tripod. The breeze made the web bounce rhythmically... I had to count it in to release the shutter at the correct 'Beat'!

For the tamron group arguing with the Exif data... I have the 90mm f2.8 mounted on a terrible cheap x2 converter, making it a 180 f8.

I spent some time shooting spider webs and came up with this series, many of which are significantly modified post-production.

This is Fred (or more likely, Frederica) who has been living next to my garden shed for a few months now, getting steadily larger! Photographed using my 7D with a Sigma 120-400mm lens at 400mm and heavily cropped.

Thousands of tiny beads of dew on this web.

Not everything is as it seems, not even this spider web. It may look perfect from a distance but when you look closer, you can tell that it’s not. I know that nothing’s ever perfect, but it’s okay. It’s what makes our world amazing, and it’s what makes us human.
