I used to hate spiders. This clearly is no longer the case.
Some of the awesomest things that drow create in the Underdark are Web Golems - tons and tons of valuable spider silk converted into a towering monster of doom! And of course it's teeming with spiders, what else would you exspect? It's funny, but some arachnophobes might be fooled into thinking that this is a non-scary creature until they look just a little...bit...closer.
It was a beautiful misty morning this morning, but I had no intention of going out in it until my hubby pointed out a ray of sun that was shining through the fog straight onto a spider web on a big pile of tree prunings in our backyard. Quick as a flash I threw on some warm clothes, grabbed my camera and ran outside. There were actually three perfect webs on the pile of branches, all covered in dew, and so I snapped away until my fingers were so cold I had to retreat to the warmth of the house.
I had a lot of fun processing these, and used a few of Dale's presets on some of them (although I can't remember which now).

The overnight moisture clings onto a weathered spider web. As I walked the trails at Bolsa Chica that cold and foggy morning I noticed these spider webs everywhere. They were all covered with drops of moisture like this one - almost looked like beads on a string. There were a lot of pristine webs but something about this ragged one caught my eye.

This spider was as big as the palm of my hand and the web wider than 2 doors. Go in for the closeup to see her hairy legs.
